    Hi Orange Ena
    It's horrible when work leaves you feeling that way. I recall having a job where it got harder and harder for me to go in. I was walking into the building slower and slower until one day I couldn't go in the door at all. You did the right thing by going to the GP and getting some time away/off. You are still doing great on the generating more income and decreasing clutter. Take it easy. DIA x

    Thanks DIA. Ah that must have been hard. It sounded like it was time to move on for you.

    I just keep kicking myself.....if I hadn't got into debt, or not consolidated and then run up more debt, or made an effort earlier to clear it I wouldn't feel stuck in this job. I'm just not brave enough to leave now, with no job to go to and debt hanging over me. But, I can't think like that otherwise I'll totally crumble. At least I'm doing something now, just wishing this year away though!

    Thanks for dropping by x

    Oh you really sound like you need a rest. Time off will do you the world of good - try not to feel guilty about why you're off or not there or anything like that - just rest and relax as much as you can. I confess to having felt like crying before work every day this week...

    Thanks ccl. I've been chilling this week and trying not to think about returning to work or feeling guilty that work has had to be rearranged. I just can't wait for the time when I can hand my notice in. Sorry you've been feeling like that, it's a horrible way to be. Hope you relax over half term :)

    Not done a lot this week really, just mooched about at home. Did a bit of tidying, bit of reading, bit of telly watching, a few surveys......

    Thursday
    * NSD
    * 3 PA surveys!
    * 50p bonus from PA for a study that went a bit wrong
    * 176SB earned and a £10 Am@zon voucher redeemed
    * Sorted out my bookcase and found 8 books to donate and a couple to give to friends. I've got so many to read and re-read it's ridiculous so I really want to read 2 a month and then I might get through them by 2019......but not buy any more in that time otherwise I'll never catch up :o
    * One scarf for the charity shop / car boot box

    Today
    * £14 on a top in Asd@. This was only after I went into 6 charity shops and couldn't find anything in my size (which is a bit limited anyway) that wasn't absolute tat or more appropriate for a 90 year old :rotfl:
    * £4.75 on packaging supplies for my eb@y parcels in H0me Barg@ins
    * 54p for a stamp in the PO. Very mse as a I hardly send anything by post so saves having to spend a few quid on a book of stamps that won't get used for ages :money:
    * £13.94 on a few groceries in M0rrisons, mainly cheese!
    * PA survey
    * VO survey
    * I-S@y survey
    * Youg0v survey
    * 118SB earned
    * £12 received from Pinec0ne and transferred to my overpayments account!
    * £1.79 sweep into my FD savings account

    Still got another 2/3 days before my eb@y items finish. I now have 92 watchers on the 20 items with total sales so far of £50.84 on 9 of the items :T

    Have a happy weekend folks. I'll probably spend all day tomorrow opening the mountain of valentine cards I'm expecting :rotfl:;)

  • Hello Ena,

    So very sorry to hear about how you are feeling. Just take things as they come, maybe the two weeks off is just what you need to get you by? You are unlikely to like your job on return, but the break might make it more bearable.

    Make sure you do something nice now in the two weeks. Get out for a walk and be in the fresh air.

    Sending you a hug x

  • Hi Ena, sorry you've had a rough time, your GP is exactly right you need a bit of a break and I'm glad you have had a nice time pottering! Does your workplace offer any counselling to staff, an employee assistance scheme or occ health? It might be good to have a few sessions.

    Thanks Catriona. I've been trying to get out for a but of fresh air so that's good but already the work dread is creeping in. I get the feeling I'm going to be quite unsettled this year but I've got to keep going until I'm in a better position. Still hoping for a lottery win / mystery benefactor / bank error!

    Thanks Gonna, nice to see you back. My boss has told me that there is counselling available so I'll look into it. Although I'm not sure how honest I can be with them considering it's work I'll be moaning about saying how much I hate it! ;):D

    Evening money savers :) I'm due a bit of a catch up.......

    Saturday 13th
    * NSD
    * PA survey
    * 85SB earned
    * Nearly bought some new ip0d headphones from eb@y to replace my broken ones when I had a brainwave. I wondered if any old headphones would work so I found the ones that came with my phone (not iPh0ne!) and they do! :T

    Sunday 14th
    * £2 in H0me Barg@ins
    * £41.53 in T3sco on YS groceries, on offer milk, shampoo and deodorants. Managed to resist buying myself some valentine red roses and chocolates :rotfl:
    * 3SB.....poor show today

    Monday 15th
    * £6 in Wilk0s on cat litter and face cream
    * £2.10 for more packaging tape
    * £23.96 on postage for eb@y parcels but paid myself back from payp@l
    * £1.60 chippy tea :p
    * 2 VO surveys
    * Pinec0ne survey
    * 214SB earned
    * £23.77 received from PA and transferred to my overpayments account
    * £35.49 eb@y profit transferred to my overpayments account
    * £1.93 sweep into FD savings account

    Today
    * £1.89 for an anniversary card
    * 63p for a stamp to send the card
    * £15.60 for eb@y postage but paid myself back straight from payp@l
    * £1.25 for some peanuts
    * Youg0v survey
    * I-S@y survey
    * 2 PA surveys
    * VO survey
    * 195SB earned
    * Checked the remnants in the carpet place and I'm sure I can get a remnant to fit the spare room for a good price, maybe £40/50 tops and fitting would be £40
    * Had another meeting with another mortgage adviser but they charge a fee if I go ahead and the rate they've found is on par with what I can get if I just remortgage with my existing lender. So to save all the hassle of getting payslips, valuation, paying a fee etc, I may as well just stick to my plan and remortgage with Nati0nwide......plus I think there's a cashback offer :j:T
    * £1.23 sweep into my overpayments account
    * Chased up R0yal M@il for a claim I made for a non delivery and there's a cheque for £8.89 on its way to me :T

    I seem to get through quite a lot of kitchen roll, what with having a cat and being a bit of a spiller. I always used to use cheap supermarket own and they were ok, nothing brilliant, but when I did an online order last year, they didn't have stock they sent me a substitute......Pl3nty. I was so impressed that I never went back to own brand but Pl3nty costs plenty! I picked up some Nicky while in H0me Barg@ins recently and they are just as good, if not better. I probably get through one roll every 5 days which costs about 62p a roll of Pl3nty (I usually buy it when there's a "free" roll, 3 for £1.85) but Nicky costs 33p a roll (£1 for 3 rolls) so that's a yearly saving of £21.17 :T:j Really, really have too much time on my hands :rotfl:

    It's great about the headphones. :) I swear less money makes you more creative and more 'aware' somehow. Well done :)
    Yearly saving on kitchen roll is hilarious :rotfl: but it's the little things and attention to detail that count and that's why you are where you are and I am where I am...
    Have a lovely evening

  • Hello hello,

    Just briefly, as its late, on the topic of mortgages. Do check the tool here in MSE, and if you want to check with a broker, London and Country, endorsed by MSE, are absolutely free.

    In my experience, it's worth checking brokers, but my direct deal with Nationwide was £15 a month cheaper than the best deal L&C could find. I think if you look around, you should find the best one for you.

    Are you going for a tracker? I think I'm going to stay with a tracker until I need to have a career change, or the cost of mortgages goes down a little bit more, after which I think I'll remortgage for 10 years, on a fix. Then I can do all the career changes I want!

    Sending you lots of good vibes. Just keep going. Re counselling, I work in the public sector and ours is outsourced and we (HR) never know what is being said, as its completely confidential. Try to find out whether yours is in-house; very few of them are nowadays. Normally it's an EAP, and over the telephone. It's always good to talk. X
