I'm still waiting for my friend to send me the money for the spa night. I messaged her last Tuesday and she said she was skint until the weekend and would pay then! She didn't bother asking me before I forked out for the whole night away so I'm blimming annoyed. She still hasn't paid now but promises me it will be tomorrow. She's definitely not getting a share of my cashback now :rotfl:

As of today, my outstanding CC debt is exactly £4000. I might make an extra payment this week to take me to £3000 something! "Only" another £552.28 to pay until I'm at 50% debt repaid.

Roll on payday on the 24th :D

Excellent money saving, NSDs and more surveys!

Sorry to hear about you feeling low... Grr to your friend as well, that's really annoying. I have a friend like that too, so think I can relate.
I guess the only thing to do is wait. Is it a lot of dosh?

But excellent news about being so close to half way!!!

What could you do to cheer yourself up? How about a nice hot bath?

    Sending you positive thoughts.

    Haha there's an idea!

Yeah I think while its great that he's saved so much and obviously his mum looks after him well, maybe a little too well, when / if he does move out he's going to be a bit hopeless. He might end up being one of those useless men that moves in with a lady and expects her to do what his mum did :rotfl:

It's all going well and I've really been pushing on with the house update. Hopefully it will be decorated and carpeted by the end of March then I'm good to go. I do need to get the bathroom sorted and while it's perfectly ok to use, when I do update it I think I'll have to hope the lodger doesn't mind the disruption. If really pushed though I'd be willing to knock a weeks rent off or pay for a hotel for a couple of nights for them (via TCB :rotfl:)

I'd love to be debt free by the end of the year but I think that I'll try and get my debt down to 2k first, then save like a ninja, get debt neutral and then build savings for my new life......hopefully by the sea somewhere :T:D

Just wanted to say re bathroom

When I renovated my house, there was no money left for the bathroom, so the avocado suite had to stay and I just put down some beige Lino to hide the beetroot coloured floor that was thee before. Yes, avocado & beetroot. It made your eyes bleed. :rotfl:

But it was never a problem for the lodgers! It still rented out at a very good price, and nobody ever complained. I did always make a joke out of it when showing around, but most of them just said it didn't matter that much as long as it was clean and in good working order.

I think it may be a surprise to you, how much people will not mind. But I agree, it is nicer and even easier to clean when since its been updated. You get a good feeling going in there, and when you've finished cleaning it looks nice!
And yeah, if you pay for them to shower at a local gym or knock some money off rent. The disruption is about 10 days, so that should be ok! Worst case scenario, if you have a chat and they don't like the idea of the update (unlikely!!) - you just wait until, they move out. Happy days!

    Sending you positive vibes x

How's the dvd watching going? I'm going to try and watch 5 a week and then only keep the really good ones I'll watch again! I've only ever really bought cheap dvds from the bargain bin or the charity shop so I don't feel too bad selling them to Z1ffit for 20p! I'd cry if I'd paid full price! :D

A sweep is rounding down your accounts and transferring the money to another account. So if my current account has £124.76, I'll sweep the pennies to make it an even number. With Nati0nwide you can't transfer less than a pound so I'd do £1.76. Soon adds up :) x

Wow avocado and beetroot? That's quite a combination for the senses ;)

Thanks for reassuring me about the bathroom. I've been a student and lived I some places where the bathroom was horrid, but it was more about the bedroom. My spare bedroom will be nice and the rest of the house is fine so hopefully they won't mind the bathroom, but it's really not that bad anyway. It's just cause I want a shower cubicle putting in and the bath taking out!

Money wise I think I just need to get a lodger in and sort the bathroom out later, otherwise I'll never get going!

Thanks for positive vibes :) x

Haha yes more lovely surveys :T

She's paid up now, the money went in today so I can relax a bit now. It's £67 so I needed it back for groceries and general spends. Bit annoyed having to wait 10 days but if she ever pays for something for us, I won't worry about taking my time paying her back :rotfl::p So naughty

My debt has gone up by £134 due to the radiator so I'm a bit further away now. I'm really hoping to get to 50% paid at the end of April but if I don't quite make it, I'm going to "borrow" from my rainy day fund. It'll be a massive milestone :T

Haha I might have to have a bath while I've still got one, good idea. :D

It's nearly the weekend, that's cheering me up! :)
