    One sad lonely day off before I return to work :( The Sunday night doom feeling has set in already. Aaargh I've never wanted to break my arm so much :p;)

    Friday
    * £35.19 on groceries and a few household bits that I was running out of
    * £1.01 sweep into my FD savings account
    * PA survey
    * Youg0v survey
    * 75SB earned

    Today
    * NSD - didn't go out :D
    * VO survey
    * PA survey
    * 3 measly SB earned :p
    * Finished reading my book.....The Art of Being Normal. Thumbs up from me!
    * Found some more shredding and blitzed it
    * Finished clearing the spare room of excess stuff and put it in my bedroom cupboard. The only things in there are the bed (need to get the stuff from under it out) a hanging rail with clothes on it and a chair. It's almost ready for decorating but first I need to get someone to put an extra double socket in and for new skirting boards to be attached

    Night :)

    Ouch, you really are dreading going back to work... :(

    I'll google that book, I like the title. Recommended?

    The spare room situation is looking good. Very soon lovely :money: money is going to start rolling in. Perfect! Looks like it's going to be a nice room. Does it need a wardrobe or a chest of drawers or is that already in there? You're so close to being able to save a fair bit. I'll have to look at your updated sig.

    How is the YNAB adventure coming along? I love the concept but I've not been using it appropriately. I don't use it to make decisions about what to spend on. If I want to spend, I still just spend, and often emotionally, when I'm feeling lonely. I need to snap out of that, I'd be happy with 80-20. Any tips?

    Oh gawd I really am dreading it. Apart from a few people, I really won't miss any part of it. Not one bit. Got to hang in there for now :o

    I would recommend the book. I thought it was well written, easy to read, funny, sad, great characters and I didn't want it to end. Everything I want in a book :D I'm starting Me Before You tonight,which has been on the shelf for ages. I've had to blow the dust off it :p

    I'm hopefully getting the guy to quote for decorating this week but I need to sort the double socket and skirting first. Maybe by the end of Feb I'll be nearly ready! I'll need a wardrobe and a chest but I might put a spare chest that I've got in there for dressing purposes, incase a lodger doesn't actually want a chest of drawers. If they do, I'll get them a cheap Ike@ chest :money:

    I think I might have answered your YNAB question on your thread :) It's really hard when it's emotional spending. If I said, just stop spending, would that work? Probably not! What do you want more.....a bit of tat / clothes / shoes or to be free from the shackles of debt, living without lodgers by the chocolate factory in a swanky flat working in the dream job? Just got to find the motivation or that carrot!

    I'm far from perfect spending wise but more than anything else, I want to be debt free so I can leave my job. I don't expect it to be the answer to all my problems and instantly make me happy, but it's my motivation at the moment.

    We've got to keep at it I think, set new goals and challenges, save, sell stuff, surveys, anything to keep it interesting ;) x

    Well, it's Sunday night and I've not managed to break my arm today so it looks like I'll have to go to work. To rub salt in the wound, my friends daughter broke her arm today. Wah! Wah! Why can't it happen to meeee? :rotfl:

    Today
    * £9 on yet more groceries. My special milk was on offer so I have stocked up
    * 103SB earned
    * £75 transferred to my overpayments account which is my 'free' month of council tax. In previous years this would have just been spent :T

    I know last year I made an extra £500 or so from surveys and eb@y selling but I didn't keep an accurate record. This year I'm keeping a notebook so I know exactly what I've earned in cash or vouchers from other income streams, just for fun :) The January scores on the doors are in:

    • Pr0lific Ac@demic - £13.84
    • Youg0v - 275 points (equivalent of £2.75)
    • Sw@gbucks - 1988SB (enough for £10 received via payp@l)
    • Pinec0ne - £3
    • P0pulusLive - £2
    • Valu3d Opini0ns - £7
    • T0pcashback - 52p (£10 missing cashback claim logged)
    • Selling stuff - £27.50

    So that's an amazing £66.61, not including the £10 missing cashback which I hope I'll get eventually :T:j

    I've also tracked my January sweeps:

    • FD savings account - £7.20
    • Nati0nwide overpayments account - £11.73

    A total of £18.93....it all adds up :D

    :):):)

    * 4SB earned
    * £1.65 sweep into FD savings account
    * £1.81 sweep into my overpayments account

    Today
    * £14.86 on dinner with my friend
    * P0pulusLive survey
    * VO survey
    * Youg0v survey

    Evening! One more day of work before a lovely weekend :)

    Wednesday
    * £26.53 on groceries
    * £60 for my new laptop to be set up. I'm not capable of doing this myself so money well spent
    * I-S@y survey
    * VO survey

    Today
    * NSD
    * Paid £200 extra to my H@lifax CC from my overpayments account :j
    * Set up a new DD for H@lifax for £160 which was the £25 original payment and £135 that I was paying to my now cleared Barcl@ycard CC. Snowball!!! :D
    * Listed 5 items on eb@y
    * PA survey

    I've got some spends coming up for home improvements but I've got the cash in my house account so that's good. In the next couple of weeks I'll be getting the final radiator replaced, a new fence and some extra sockets put in the bedrooms. Getting there! :T

    Hey Orange Ena, you are getting there indeed. Well done.
    I've been using gu****** to no avail recently. I need to bite the bullet and use *bay too, otherwise I won't get stuff sold. The weekend is nearly here and you can kick back a little. Take care, DIA x

    I didn't have much luck with Gumtr33 at all and I go through a love/hate thing with eb@y but it generally gets results. Have you tried Shp0ck? I sold a couple of items on there and it's free to list.

    Can't wait to chill. Take care too x

    Ah hello weekend, very nice to see you again :D

    Today
    * NSD.....sort of
    * £137.96 spent from my gift balance on Am@zon. For that I got a mattress protector, fitted sheet, duvet, duvet set and pillows for the spare bed, as well as 3 rolls of wallpaper (£5 a roll cheaper than H0mebase have it for) and a curtain pole for the spare room. And a smoke alarm, some hair treatment and the M@rie K0ndo book. Not a bad haul and I still have £1.34 left on my balance :T Definitely need some more surveys now though ;)
    * 3 x PA surveys!
    * P0pulusLive survey. A £4 survey from the other day hasn't credited so chased up by email. My little notebook has come in handy :p
    * 148SB January bonus claimed
    * 265SB earned
    * 95p sweep into my FD savings account
    * 7 items listed on ebay, if they all sell for the asking price it'll be £14 less fees, not much but a) it's money and b) it's space......for new clothes :rotfl:;);)

    Have a good weekend y'all :)
