    It's certainly an interesting concept. But as others say, I wouldn't really want to be associated due to the crime involved.

    Can see it being a useful way for genuine transactions to take place globally though. I've used some websites myself only where on purchasing a real good that's going to be delivered to you, I've seen bitcoins accepted as a payment. I just thought it was another paypal, moneybookers or similar.

    Apparently Amazon are doing something similar, but it's pegged to the dollar, so not a true alternative option.

    HSBC found guilty of laundering money from terrorists and drug cartels?

    Barclays and others rigging libor?

    The London whale?

    I have used BitCoin in a small capacity.
    I don't remember signing up to be a terrorist or money launderer though!
    (I must read the T's & C's more thoroughly next time ;) )

    It has gone up about 40% in 30 days ..and with the Cypriot banks opening tomorrow ..I guess it will rise again ?

    Virtual currencies are to be regulated by the US Treasury at the point at which they are translated into real world currencies.
