No, you don't get it, from what I've been told, it's like the difference of going into the pub and asking around if anyone has any antiques for sale or searching on eBay and choosing the best deal.
It's the digitalisation of the black market. Enormous implications.
Apparently it was nothing like you could buy on the street, two leagues better and they had no concern about what they were taking ( again rightly or wrongly ) because the thousands of raving reviews guaranteed a clear explanation of effects with others chemically testing it with independent analysis in the feedback.Proudly voted remain. How wrong you were,
With the constant stream of bitcoin websites being hacked though, you would have to be extremely foolish to leave significant sums of money (whether fiat currency or BTC) on them.
Even though some of these events have been highly suspect ("we got hacked, sorry it's all gone!" followed by obscurity), it doesn't even take fraud on behalf of the web site operators for the risk to be so high.
This is an unregulated industry and too many inexperienced developers are putting up sites they knocked together in an afternoon, then finding hundreds of thousands of £/$ are going through them.
Personally I am enjoying playing about with trivial sums of money just to see what happens, have enjoyed some nice returns buying in crashes then selling high, but try to keep in mind that any site I use could be compromised or disappear the next day as could the entire currency!0 -

Happy with currency 1.0 ?
how happy is happy?
a digital currency can be more efficient for online transactions, by cutting out the banks (or replacing them with something with a fraction of the cost).
untracability can be used both for good and for evil, but on balance i'd say it's good, since governments are too keen on spying on ppl.
1 downside is making tax evasion easier, which narrows the tax base. the fewer ppl who pay tax, the more everybody else has to pay, or the worse public services become, or a bit of both.0
