Although I am mining various coins outside BTC I don't really look at the value as such. I love the concept and if I end up making some money or contributing to development that is fine with me.

The bitcoin 'value' won't be affected by this - it's far too irrational, it went UP when the FBI knocked out Silk Road's hoard, for instance.
