Haha, nah, not the same phone. The new cable will probably last you another 2-3 years with the same usage. But just be very careful when opening the phone and replacing the ribbon, they are quite delicate. Just like computers, if you have problems with something, don't force it .. it probably has some sort lever or clip that's holding it.0

You would think Nokia would have made a cable that would last with "normal" useageNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

it is a well known problem with the ribbons on these and it will be fixed under warrenty which is 24 months so you are still in

i would let them do it as if it goes wrong or another problem develops later you will have invalidated your warrenty0 -

you dont need it - they can check the date of man from the bar code on the imei sticker (although sometime cpw onsite repair centers like a receipt, but they usually relent with a bit of persuasion))0 -

I too have the same problem with my 6111 (white screen). As its under guarantee i sent it back to nokia, who returned it unrepaired saying the warrantee was invalid because the unit had encountered water damage. I'm SOOO annoyed, NO WAY has it been near water/liquid. Seems like a case of there word against mine! Grr.0
