Good morning all,
Snowing here and very cold.
I was out of here at just after 6 o'clock to go shopping. All put away. At least that job is out of the way.
Wm is on. Will have a tidy round, get some baking done and that will be me done.
Dd has got an awful cold. She looks terrible. She isn't going to work today or tomorrow. Other dd is off to London with her bf and then to the 02 tonight. I don't really want them to go because of the weather but i guess her bf will see how the weather unfolds. He is a sensible chap.
halight, so pleased you had a good nights sleep.
nmlc, good news that the car passed the mot. One less thing to worry about.
Not sure what is for tea yet. I will see what dd fancies as she hasn't been eating much.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Thanks it's really driving me nuts:mad:
I've just popped back to ask you lovely people a question. Does anyone know of a current scheme for free cavity wall insulation?. Because we are on a low income currently we should qualify, it's just I'm with Scottish Power and their scheme isn't running just now. I'd like to get it done sooner rather than later but don't want one of these silly companies that say its free and then try and charge you.
Thanks guys.Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning :hello:
Time to face the music Sorry about your little ferretBut that's a great photo
A friend of mr tru's is a tree surgeon, he rang and said he'd just shredded some branches and would we like them for the garden? Oh yes please! So he delivered it - a whole tipper truck full :rotfl: He tipped it onto the drive and that was that, I could only get about three feet from the front doorPost lady paused at the end of the drive and decided to walk straight past
We've shifted 40 barrow loads (yes we counted) and have just managed to clear a pathway, lol. Think I'll have to ask the neighbours if they want any.
The snow's just started, the ground is really wet though so doubt it'll settle.Bulletproof0 -
Morning all,
Well I'm glad to say the snow hasn't arrived this morning looks looks about the same as when I went to bed very glad as we need to visit In laws today bout 40mins away and they live at the top of quite a steep hill. Last snow we had we spend most of the visit (we got there before it snowed) watching poor slows trying and failing for the most part to get up the hill.
My OH used to keep ferrets when he was younger apparently he had about six at one point and one of them had kits (hope that's right) I found loads of pictures of them whilst tiding so for surprise mas gift I made a col large picture of them he loved it. must admit to being a tad frightened of them myself though I have to admit I have never had the pleasure of meeting one in person so to speak.
So not much going on as we will have lunch at in laws and OH cooking curry for tea so I think I will take the day off well play with babs anyhows
Hugs and best wishes to all

Morning everyone
Julie67 - re your question re insulation - your local council should have a budget for this kind of thing - although these budgets have been subject to decreases from central government with all the cost cutting etc. I would get onto the council straight away though, as it's coming up to the 1st April it's a new budget year and to stand the best chance you need to get in first, IYKWIM. Not sure what benefits you may be on, if you're not receiving any then you may not qualify - just being on a low income now doesn't automatically qualify you (again due to government cost cutting). Only other thing I can think of is as you've already said try energy suppliers or energy saving trusts - perhaps do a search on directgov to start off with. HTH.
Snow is really coming down now, but has turned sleety and wet - ground is now just wet - hopefully it will just continue to melt as it hits the ground.
Take care, keep safe and well x

Morning All
Hope you're not suffering too much with the weather, we have had more snow overnight but still not enough to stop us doing anything, my thoughts go out to all those with no power. I have the log burner on and if I can manage to get a new grate will light the other fire. This grate only lasted a couple of months so I think there must have been a fault, they usually last over a year.
I was given a piano stool (we don't have a piano) and I am going to try to brighten it up, have to strip the fabric off and then do some sanding. Should keep me busy for most of the day.
Going to the library but that's about it. Take care. XX0 -
Spot on 7am and the promised snow arrived, it's not pitching so that's a blessing.
WM has finished & is on again, the washing is on the radiators & I've cleaned the hob, now I'm going to make myself some breakfast.

Morning all,
No snow here just rain rain and more rain, the road is flooding a bit, I would prefer snow.
DD stayed over at a party last night, need to go and collect her later, OH and I want to go to a giant indoor boot sale, we will either go together, or he will go, and I will collect dd.
DD has her two best mates coming over later, they are both boys, and lovely lads, they look after her if they go out for the night, they are going to make pizzas, and nachos so need to make sure I have all the bits.
Washing is in the wm, will have to go on the airer, will have a quick tody through.
Have good days all and stay safe.
Ttftm, a good friend of mine has a house ferret, he is a lovely little thing xx0 -
Good Morning x
Very snowy here today xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Brrrr
woke up to about four inches of snow this morning and it is still coming down. DD has her first Saturday off in 8 weeks and we were going to the water mill in Barton, but that has had to be called off.
DH has gone to work, but as I said to him at least he doesn't have to clear the drive and paths at the school over the weekend
So no plans for today really, so I think that I will defrost the freezers at least the stuff won't defrost while I am doing itand I will be able to see exactly what I have in.
I took all the smart price corned beef/ horse and canned horse mince from my store cupboard back to Asda yesterday and the girl on the customer service desk was as thick as two short planks, she didn't seem to know about the horse meat scandal so I told her to look it up on the web. What really got my goat about the corned beef is that on the Asda web site it says that it is safe to eat even though they have found 50% horse dna in it  That really made me mad  The money I got back went on a leg of lamb and a joint of pork (which I got 3 joints out of)
Anyhoo I had better get started on the house work.
Fry up tonight, nice and easy
