Is anyone else fed up to the back teeth with people moaning about being caught for speeding ? Trying to justify why they should be able drive above the regulation speed limits, looking for any loopholes to squirm out of their predicament, after they have been caught fair and square, trying to tell us that speed doesnt kill !!!!!
To all you speeders I know a gauranteed way of being able to avoid a speeding ticket......Don't speed... simple as. I have followed this advice and managed to avoid any points on my licence for 19yrs.
So come on wake up and stick to the speed limits !!!!

Only 19 years !! I've managed to keep a clean licience for 23 years, but NO i don't get fed up people whinging. I think they have every right to whinge (in some cases) given the state of affairs with motorists being persecuted in this country to make an easy few quid.
Anyone who says, they've never broken the speed limit is a liar in my book !!!
In fact in some circumstances it is LEGAL to break the speed limit.0 -

I guessed a member of the pro speeding alliance would be the first to reply, I guess you don't know anyone who has lost a loved one to a speeding motorist !!!, Speed limits are there for a reason or perhaps we should forget about all laws and just have anarchy, I hate the excuse that they are just revenue raisers, there is an easy way to deny them their revenue.....Don't speed !!0 -

Totally agree with you oldbill.......some people around here drive like maniacs, ironically because the roads are quiet and there are no speed cameras and zero police presence.
It's mainly youngsters of the large-exhaust-small-brain-boy-racer variety, but they're killing themselves off gradually (2 fatalaties in a couple of months).
One can only hope that the next one to do so doesn't take an innocent motorist or pedestrian with them."I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
The only thing I have to say is that the speed limits are NOT at all realistic. They were set in the 60s when cars could barely do 80mph and took hundered of yards to stop. these days cars are safer, brakes are better, etc etc. even though cars have got better, the speed limits have not changed to reflect this.
I agree that if you speed, theres no point trying to make a big fuss or anything but I can understand wy people do it. the road rules, especially the speed limits are completely dated. If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0 -

I know people who have been lost to none speeding motorists, I don't take it out on all car drivers thoughIt's not a light at the end of the tunnel, it's a man with a torch and more jobs

The speed limit on motorways should be increased to 80mph but the ones in other areas should be kept. If you're speeding in a builtup area you deserve points etc but the motorway limit is too low for today's traffic.0

I'm taking it out on irresponsible speeding motorists. Read the original post again
Didn't say you are, read my post again.
You mentioned speeding drivers and people who have been killed by them, I was pointing out that people are also killed by people who don't speed.
FWIW I agree that inappropriate speed is dangerous, however I really don't think the police do themselves much in the way of favours in the way they go about things.
I have Richard Brunstrom as my Chief Constable, BTW. Maybe this clouds my judgement somewhat. It's not a light at the end of the tunnel, it's a man with a torch and more jobs
