E2save with carphone warehouse - note ll deal
I'm in a sim only contract with O2, until November 2013.
I've been contacted by e2save who I believe are part of O2 offering me an upgrade.
I don't understand how I can leave my contact? Do they buy me away from O2? I don't want to go with them & find out I still have to pay O2 £15.99 a month!
Anyway what they've offered me O2 can't touch.
Reconditioned Samsung Galaxy Note ll, for £27 a month, unlimited mins, can't remember if texts & data were unlimited, but it was more than I would ever use. The phone is free too.
O2 do this for £32 a month, so it's £120 less over 24 months.
At present I pay £16 a month for sim only, this would only be an extra £11 (£264 over the 24 months) for the phone I want.
Who are they? How can they sell me an O2 deal cheaper than O2? Should I go for it?

e2save and other 3rd party companies are notorious for doing this sort of thing.
-E2Save are not part of O2 (they're techically part of carphone warehouse)
-They sell you a NEW contract, not an upgrade.
-They don't buy out your old contract.
So in effect you will still be paying O2 £16pm until november, and then have a galaxy note 2 at £27pm on a second line with a different number.
My advice is to avoid. It's a classic case of mis selling,0 -
Good advice, BUT they ARE CPW (not just technically) and they CAN do upgrades - though not this far in advnace of the end of the existing contract.0

I can upgrade with O2 though if I want because I have a sim only deal.
Thinking about it, they (e2save) did offer me some deals keeping my current number or better deals if I change my number. Surely the deals where I would keep my number must be legit?
I just don't understand how e2save or car phone warehouse can upgrade my contact that isn't actually with them? Does this happen then?0 -
It's normal; they get commission from the network in question. I'd get it in writing first though - I can't see how they can upgrade that early unless you pay off the balance of the existing contract. Alos, I'd NEVER do a deal over the phone; it could be anyone calling you and a lot of people end up with something different to what was agreed over the phone. The timescale on this especially makes it sound dubious. If you have it precisely in writing (including how it would affect your existing contract) you'll be sure who it's from and if it's CPW you can enforce the agreement.0

I agree, when the OP said the contracted ended in novemeber it made me realise something was wrong.
Unless you can get it in writing like MJ said, then it's most likely a new contract.0 -

& if it was a new contract I would be stuck paying for 2 phones until November?
It'd be worse.
You'd be stuck paying your current phone line till november. Which you could then cancel. Then still be paying for the Note 2 line rental for the full 24 month period.
Like i said, it's a risk unless you get in writing that it's an upgrade on your account. But the fact is that O2 can't upgrade you to October. So there is no way at all E2Save could upgrade you now,0 -

Sorry maybe I haven't been clear. O2 will upgrade me now as I'm on a sim only deal.
I just didn't understand how a 3rd party could upgrade me.
Spoke to them this morning, they can do me an iPhone 5 for £27 a month & £125 for the phone.0 -

Oh right, I thought you were in contract till November???
Well if O2 can do it, E2Save can do it too (they're a part of CPW) but i'd still be wary. They're known for selling NEW contracts rather than UPGRADES but doesn't mean it won't be an upgrade.
Like above, if you can get it in writing and it's better than what O2/Other networks can offer then go for it. Just bear in mind that they are a third party and if anything goes wrong with the handset within the first 28 days you have to deal with them for the replacement/repair.0
