Nationwide and/or their postal contractor (UKMail) are very slow at getting mail out to customers. A PIN advice letter dated 14th March was delivered today 27th March.0

I did ring today but they said it was with their new business team referral team and it could take 10 days. Interestingly, they didn't have the new address even though it was changed in branch over a week ago (on savings account). I can't help feeling they will turn me down but I will have to wait and see why.0

I see looking at these other threads I am not alone in having terrible service from nationwide since opening a flexdirect account with them.
I applied online for the account and clicked for internet banking.
7 working days for some paperwork to arrive, but no internet bumf. Tried to use telephone banking but customer ID numbers given didn't work. On hold for 7 minutes to speak to human who gave me new customer id and told me to reapply for internet.
Meanwhile money I had transferred via faster payment was refused and took 3 working days to finally get into the account.
Then letter comes saying my internet banking has been blocked because the account is not yet open??!!
Applied online again for internet banking. Got internet number 10 days later but no card reader yet. Managed to log in with memorable bit but was unable to actually use account properly without card reader.
Tried to log in today and it says theres a problem I need to reregister for internet banking.
Called nationwide to complain, (account now open 4 weeks) but to no avail, another 8 minutes on hold to speak to human, stated there had been problems with the passcodes and they would post out another lot and a card reader.
I am ready to dump the account I'm so exasperated with it!!!0 -
Roydog2 - That sounds like terrible service, I'm not surprised that you are fed up with Nationwide. Perhaps if they turn me down, I'll have had a lucky escape.0

hmmm seems like a lot of people are having trouble. I applied last week friday, was accepted online. Got a text message today saying they will begin the transfer of direct debits on the day requested - cant remember what date that was. I have received nothing in the post so don't even know what my account number is so i can put money in there???? PAIN!!! No post received as yet, and with bank holiday coming i'll doubt i'll get anything before middle of next week.Trainee Building Surveyor
