Plusnet are the biggest pile of ****
Having complained on Tuesday, heard nothing until I followed up by calling them.
My sister has 2 phone contracts with Orange so even though I failed the credit check she can get broadband, only thing is not until 30 days is up. So have to wait till Monday before we can get Broadband via them.
So Plusnet now have an Ultimatum.
Either a Openreach engineer comes this Saturday or I cancel the contract.0 -

All ISP's have bad reviews, every single ISP have some appalling reviews... just spend an hour searching for a reliable, low cost ISP with highly positive reviews and I'll bet you won't find a single one.
Anyway for what it's worth, I am a happy Plusnet customer for 3 years and am in no way connected to the company. (By the way they're owned by BT but at least have their own UK customer service centre)
Maybe the Plusnet Representive might make an appearance here and help you?
I second that, have been very satisfied with Plusnet, and Madasafish before that(all under the BT umbrella). The few problems i have had either with my previous router, or even with my computer, they have been very helpful, and given me a good deal allthe way along, both with broadband and the phone.0 -

...if you think Plusnet are bad (not my experience) ..just wait til you try to deal with HORRANGE Customer Disservices!!!
Also HORRANGE are dependent on BT Openreach as well for installations/problem solving etc ....so frying pan and fire comes to mind:rotfl:0 -
As has previously been said, you'll be dependent on BT Openreach either way. From what I have seen, Orange have a far worse rep for service and support so although I understand how frustrating it can be when you feel you're walking through treacle, just mind you don't cut off your nose to spite your face!Having complained on Tuesday, heard nothing until I followed up by calling them.
I hope you do get it sorted.0 -

Sadly most are. Only in Hull do they have no BT Lines as they are all Kingston Communications.
Regardless of how Useless Openreach are, its sad that a company with BT money behind them, they have to be pushed before they will do anything.0 -

To be fair, you didn't hear anything by the following day - that isn't exactly a huge timespan and is normal in my experience from most companies of this nature. Personally, if I wanted a response sooner, I'd be straight on the phone from the start if it was that important to me.
I hope you do get it sorted.
If your told one thing and they do another, then its a long time.
My work means I'll do atleast 50hours a week, so now I'm back working and driving HGV I refuse to use the phone while driving as if I were to get caught unlike standard drivers I'll lose my HGV licence for a month! so thats a years worth of holidays!
So with that in mind, its frustrating to check email to find out nothings been done, even if its a quick email to say they are working on it.
Having working in the industry for BT and an independent reseller I appreciate more than most about dealing with Openreach and the timescales involved, and probably why I am more demanding.0 -
I recently signed up to Plusnet as like many I did not want to move to Sky as already paying them £70 a month for TV.
? Sorry, don't get this. Irrelevant to your main question but could you explain the reason for this? You are already a customer of Sky but do not want to bundle in broadband as well. Why? Not wanting to receive only broadband from Sky - that is a fathomable.0 -

I used to sell Telco solutions, Broadband (std business 50-1 ratio all the way upto full leased lines going off at 10k a month),calls, lines, Systems, support.
Companies want the lot, once they have you they can become uncompetitive and service can suffer as a result. Sky for example would not give me a discount for switching!
And I wanted to try Plusnet as they are a British company with British call centres ect ect.
Since I sent them the ultimatum they have since replied and a Openreach person is appointed from 1-6 tomorrow.0
