Do you leave work on the dot?

I always leave on time unless I'm asked to stay on in which case I'm paid the extra. However I've only had hourly paid jobs so far where it's normal to start and finish exactly on time. After uni when I hopefully get a full-time salary job I may work later depending on things like what the norm is at the company, whether I think it will improve promotion chances etc.0

I generally leave on time, unless it is a busy period such as stocktake. I may stay back half an hour to finish something, and I get overtime or TOIL so I don't feel resentful doing it.
I used to work all hours in a previous job, and while you do get used to it, I find that you burn out in the long run.marlasinger0 -

Probably, but maybe they're concentrating on doing a good job rather than clock watching.
I work in the NHS too and can only assume you have no patient care or management responsibilities, if you do then just 'downing tools' and walking out in the middle of something isn't really an option so you never leave exactly as the second hand hits 12. We get the time back if its excessive though.0 -
I will leave right on time unless I'm really busy and have urgent things to finish, which is pretty rare. Usually I stay late on Fridays because of a weekly meeting I have to attend, but I get to take the time back and finish early at some point the next week. This isn't 'official' flexitime or anything though.Kate.0

Varies hugely, but for the past 6 months I have left on the dot of5pm as I have have taken on a couple of extra projects.
Occasionally I expect my team to stop late to fix an issue or ensure a project hits its deadline, I wouldn't have their respect if I waltzed off so i will stay until that last person leaves and always get a stack of pizzas and a few beers in as well as taxis home if required and give them an extra day off, it doesn't happen often tho.
Today I left the office at 2pm as I had scheduled a meeting with a supplier and he suggested a pub in high Holborn as the location, I did offer the office but needs must:D hic

Haha, I dont tend to clock watch-makes the day drag. Although I do get a sense of when its nearly time to go home as my mascara is half way down my face (working so hard you see:D)
I dont deal with patients directly but I do deal with patient samples in the lab. Our work is 24/7 so it never stops! We deal with 4000 samples a day so there is never a good time to go!!
Funny enough......The people with management responsibilities are the worst culprits!!!! Always last in and first out!!!!!:rotfl:
Thats why the NHS is going down the pan.....too many managers or wannabe managers.0 -

PS....Your not a manager by any chance are you??:rotfl:0 -
9 out of 10 times I leave on time. But when I worked in a particular office there were times when it was easier to stay 15 minutes later and finish what I was doing because it was easier than trying to pick up the thread the next day of where I was up to. However this was entirely my choice and I was never pushed into it.0

Not by a long stretch! I did spend the day with one last week though, she didn't have a lunch break and stayed for two hours after she was supposed to finish.
Its so easy to just call them all lazy though, isn't it?0
