The Link Cashback

Hi guys,

Just about to submit my 1st claim for The Link cashback, but before I do I just want to clarify a couple of things. I've read the T&C's very carefully, but don't to lose all the cashback because they haven't been clear.

1. Can you send photocopies of the 1st and 6th O2 bills?

2. They've said that the 'mobile phone number on your airtime bill submitted must correspond with the number on the claim form'... I PAC'd my old T-Mobile number over to O2 when I applied for the deal on The Link's website. Because of the transfer process, the number on my 1st O2 bill is a temporary one, and not the one on subsequent bills. Will this cause me problems? It shouldn't be, but having read about some cashback claims on these forums, it seems they'll try to get out of paying you.

Cheers

    Hi,

Photocopies are fine if it says so on the form (my form says copies of whichever bill and receipt). As to the second point, you could put both numbers on the claim form with a note in explaining what has happened. You may have to do this each time you claim as the original receipt will show the number. You could always ring them on their helpline number (01858 417417) to check what to do.

Make sure you are sending the right bills in, in time. Orange have a double first bill so the sixth month bill is actually the fifth one that I received which almost made me miss the first payment.

    Finally, send everything recorded delivery.

Good luck, I have received each of mine I claimed with no problems from The Link although they can be slow.

I've read on the forums that you should send things in via Special Delivery with consequential loss cover to the value of the cashback, which I understand will cover you should the item not get their and they refuse to pay.

I will also be sending a cashback claim this month, they paid the first one no problems.

I've had the same prob as you with the final cashback, due in January. I rang MRM in March, sent them all the bills by fax, after having already sent them POD for the set I sent them in January. They said they will be making payment, but I have not received it yet. I'm annoyed that this outfit use an expensive 0870 number for both telephone and fax and so I wont be contacting them again.

On Monday I will email The Link and I will be telling them that they will have to sort it out, and within 7 days. Otherwise there will be a County Court summons presented to them.

I had similar problems and eventually got my cashback.

sent an email on saturday to the trading manager of the link, cheque arrived this morning. Just hope it doesn't bounce! Thanx all.
  • I sent back my first rebate in mid April. I had ported my old number over and included a cover letter to explain the change in numbers on the phone bills. I also rang a week later to confirm that they had received the rebate form and was advised that the cheque was being processed. They advised that it is always a good idea to phone and check

    Cheque arrived today.

No problems, hope the next 2 rebates run as smoothly.
