if you have an isa already perhaps you can put the money in there by fp Martin Lewis just suggest use your on bank if it is hsbc or similar to get the money in then switch to a better rate later.

I have some at 5% instant access fixed for another 2 years and the rest will probably stay in Santander even though the rate is dropping to 2.5% from 3.3%, For DW we went for FD earlier this week as she can get 3% down from 3.5%. I can't believe I missed the nationwide 4.25% last year.

Isn't that nwide account a regular saver? If so, not the best deal.
I went with santander 4% last year (plus the extra 0.1% thanks to mcilroy) for 2 years. A week or so ago I did santander major isa (2.8%) for 2 years, as I had 2 nwide isas mature that I was getting 4.4% on. I'll probably throw next years allowance in with the santander, as you can add funds up to the end of may I think.

Isa rates are, like all savings rates atm, shockingly poor.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I don't make anything of shop-quality :o I'm a half decent knitter, not super talented, so it's mostly to keep me from endlessly surfing the internet.

I've painted a few of my own tshirts, mainly as the kinda thing I want isn't available in shops.
I am no artist at all, but my pic of a bowler has got loads of comments.

    Natwest ISA is shut already.

Faster payments take longer with first payments, estimated delivery is 8 April.

Now been on hold for over an hour. Lines shut in theory in 9 minutes.

Existing ISAs all consolidated to one provider who hasn't got any on offer at the moment.

Offset mortgage with someone who has a good rate for 2013-14, but nothing for today.

Just watching an article about the British Library capturing websites as well as books. Apparently (Pastures no doubt knows this) the lifespan of the average webpage is 75 days.
They're capturing the transient stuff - tweets and forums/opinions.

It was on the news this morning - they're not making it available to the public .... unless you are SO interested that you get your bum into the British Library, actually have a BL lending card and have the time/care to sit in their building and read it. Which means.... waste of time.

    archive.org FTW - I probably use archive about 10x a week!

This new one is instant access. The other is in a fix but can be accessed with a loss of interest for the last 60 days.
