It was prescribes NHs, but in NHs hospital at last NHs appt with neurologist . I first saw her privately last year but then saw her NHs as I had to be referred back NHs for the lumbar puncture that neve was anyway.

It's all NHs though now from her.

Ah, ok. Even less bloody reason for the dots not to join up!

Can you contact the neurologist/ clinic? Even if the GP surgery wasn't terrible, I'm guessing they wouldn't have much experience with this drug/ this particular use of it?

My interview wasn't an interview in the end as I suspected. Already on the position! So that's all good. People I'll be working with seem nice, and it looks like it'll be genuinely good experience, not just brewing up for a month and a half.

It starts properly Monday morning, so I'm just looking forward to that now.

    Belated congratulations, Masomnia. :T

Belated welcome. I am usually here quite a lot, but have been absent for a few weeks and am catching up slowly on all the posts. :hello:

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Me too NDG. :( Nasty remedies never work for me. My wonderful GP fixed things for me nearly 20 years ago by prescribing a v low dose of preventative antibiotics. 2 or 3 days without them is enough to make me get it, badly, and need a proper doseage course, but as long as I keep taking the low dose I'm fine. :)

I'm more fortunate - they do work for me, they are just absolutely 'orrible!

Well I'm here. Starting to wonder if it was a good pick as it's a bit small but too late to change now.

I'm dressed as advertised and I've got a Private Eye. I'm also particularly sweaty.

PS Phone is low on juice so will turn off and check messages periodically so please SMS rather than calling.

Really really wish I could have come. London on a school night too difficult from a childcare POV, I'm afraid.

    Hello:wave:
Just waiting for a train. It's almost bedtime. Oops!
Had a lovely evening meeting many friends though. Hope they all have safe journeys home :)

Edit: I did have an umbrella with me, but it stayed in my bag. No sharp points either ;)

So glad you all had such a great time. :)

Well, next summer I will do Margate Beach Picnic /Open House for any NP's who can bear to spend a few hours with me again as I think we will do the Empty homes grant/ loan application as we can get her up and earning by March 2014 then.

Would love to come and could manage to get to Margate if it's (a) daytime, (b) either weekend or school holidays. :)

Now, speaking of great people, has anyone heard from darling Lydia?

I'm going to brave the search function on (fails the American censor) hotmail to find her email address and check she is ok tomorrow.

Aww thanks for thinking of me. PN was right - pressure of work got to me.
Reports, exams,......ok, it will be summer holidays soon and then she'll be exhausted from the kids keeping her busY!

At the moment, I am having "my" holiday - the bit when I've broken up but their schools are still going. I have been doing some "nothing" - TV, sleep etc - and some "having a life" - had afternoon tea out with a couple of teaching friends today (very civilised and thoroughly "nice").

Kids both break up at the end of next week. After that I will definitely need to keep escaping onto the NPT very frequently because it will be my main source of adult conversation for the next 6 weeks.

I was once in a workplace where they needed to get a fridge, but weren't allowed (presumably as they thought it would just be used as a storage area for everybody;'s food asnd drink). They got it approved by putting it through the budget as a "low-temperature oven".;)

When I started my PhD, my research group had milk for coffee stored in a constant temperature bath that kept it at 3.0 degrees C to the nearest 0.1 of a degree. When they finished building my equipment and the bath was needed for maintaining my chemical at the correct temperature, they decided they really needed a fridge. They got it past the finance people by listing it on the order form as "low temperature storage unit".

Only another 600 or so posts to go...

That tile is not what I would choose ideally. It's ceramic, not stone. It's white, not stone white. But it's a lot cheaper than the split face tile.

It's going to be easier to take care of. Hmmm.

As Nikki has already said, can't imagine how those tiles are kept clean.

Sorry I wasn't around to answer this when you asked it. SHC of water is 4200 J/kgK. 5300 litres is 5300kg, so that would be 5300*4200 J = 5300*4200/3600000 kWh = 6.2kWh. So well done zag. :)
Thanks - it was remembering the relationship between joules and watts where I was a bit shaky, once I had that the rest became easy....good news is I reckon I can fill it from empty with 30 degree water for about 3-4 quid - only problem is it takes about 2 days, luckily we are not on a water meter :)

The replacement safety net and pad to cover the springs for the trampoline arrived today. The trampoline with all the bits cost £97, the replacement bits with a lot of shopping around were £67, something is wrong there, freecycling the trampoline and buying a new one might have been the better value option but somehow that just seemed so wasteful :(
    I think....

The metal parts of our trampoline were the only bits that didn't look like a dog's dinner. We'd had it taking a big chunk of our garden for ages and the dog kept hiding in the weeds under it so it had to go. Couldn't freecycle it, it was too grotty so down the tip for recycling.

Weird thing was another thread had someone describing how they'd just got one for their growing kids.

Could I just hear "The Circle of Life" in the background:D

Friend stayed over last night and he and Mr S kept themselves busy by planning things ..I was out with a group of women friends...

So tomorrow night we are going to hear a ceilidh band in a Discovery centre (used to be the library), and in August we are off to Verona to see Rigoletto.

They booked BA flights to Venice and tickets for the Arena but accomodation was a bit more of a challenge. Hotels were a bit pricey even though it is only 3 nights, as we are booking late in peak season, so we are planning on staying in a B&B in Verona. Mr S then made enquiries and found one with availability and I was then worried why it had rooms. It has good feedback on Trip Advisor although a bit quirky. Just waiting for confirmation.

We have been to Verona a few times however friend has never been to mainland Italy..so we will do a day trip to Venice too.
