Sounds like a NP franchise coming on... madeinhertfordshire?

Didn't CFCs get banned years ago? I thought they were the main concern for the ozone layer? (Just thought - we don't hear so much about that any more do we? its all greenhouse gasses and global warming/ climate change since we realised we're not going to become a desert, more of a swamp!)

CFCs yes, but I also thought that they were more difficult to dispose of. Not that I am by any means an expert on waste management.

I've got no idea about that either. Might well do though seeing as aerosols tend to be metal and pump sprays plastic? (complete guess)
Certain aerosol deodorants have recently been launched as 'concentrated' so the relative use of packaging is less if that helps ;)

MY thought is the aerosol spray is a lot finer so the bits float around in the air much more whereas with a pump most of it gets where it is aimed for or quickly drops to the floor. At least one of my DKs was made in Herts :)
    I think....

I don't think they're in aerosols any more. I was just reading recently about Thomas Midgeley. He invented the lead compound that used to be used in petrol and suffered badly from lead poisoning.

Later he invented the CFCs that were used in fridges and spraycans. He's supposed to have more of an effect on the global atmosphere than any other living organism.:(

As I can't thank this several times I wanted to say how much I loved this post. You should be way richer Patures. You really deserve it so I hope that it happens for you at some point.
I know.... it's definitely a case of me never knowing "people".... if I'd been born in London I'd have been a millionaire :)

It seems in London you just have to wake up and scratch your nuts and somebody's paying you to do that all day ..... (probably on webcam though).

    :)

.....Don't think there is a copyright issue as over 100 years old.
Depends. Copyright has 2 main issues to investigate:
1] Copyright on the thing, is it X years, or is it X years after the designer dies?
2] Did the original copyright get registered/renewed?

But you're the threads expert .... so you'll know.

Apropos of nothing this article cheers me up.
Not that I'll ever visit any of these places but when I was a kid we didn't suspect they existed!

Do the NPs think we are "alone"?
One day we'll find life.... and they'll give us a stern speaking to ... and explain that
    [a] we are their rejects
they're now going to vapourise us as we're getting too cheeky in trying to escape.

    :)
