The old 'You're like a brother to me' line
Kind of! Sorry Gen.
I think of the nice men I am close to in a 'brotherly love' sort of way. I was accused of feeling something more for one once when in fact I felt very protective of him because of his personal cirumstances.
I never had brothers, and friends (including vitual ones) who are caring and teasing and funny and warm always are especially valued to me because I wanted brothers so very much.
(True and somewhat awful story.....I used to beg my parents to adopt Ethiopians because they needed food and in my mind I conflated this with homes and I needed brothers.). I still wish they would have done.

I'm in bed. Left the back door open for dogs, not having supper.
Tried to take photos of Cheryl cole hair for dh but too exhausted for that, and certainly too tired to put camera friendly slap on, so dh can imagine big curls. We're meant to be going out on Saturday. I might try and keep the glam hair until then,0 -

You sound gorgeous.

As for living, the people on the IoW are continually moaning that [a] there's no jobs getting stuff is difficult as they have to get on the ferry to go to shops [c] the ferry's expensive.I've just shared, so hopefully get some more! £250 is certainly not to be sniffed at.Today my work "resilience" has been tested. Just writing that has helped:oIn fact, my job has felt like wading through concrete the past few days and not helped by our house going through another destruction process.....the entire lounge has been dug up, floor re-done, all CH pipes and gas re-done, dirt everywhere, tools, mess and nowhere to sit at all.
We did plan it for June so we could eat outside on the garden table and past 3 nights haven't been too bad but earlier we were sat outisde eating dinner in our coats under brellas as it was spitting.
The novelty of a camping kitchen has now thoroughly worn off and we are too spent out to go out to eat.
I guess I'll get a sort of lounge area back in 4 weeks time.....then the back of the house comes down. omg.
LIR...I love love love Cheryl Cole hair......I bet it looks fab:)
Hope you feel a bit more perky over the next few days.0 -

Where have you been and was this for you or FiR?
I've been to my new hairdresser, feind of a friend, in the grim little local town, who straightened it last time. We're getting opn really well. I'm going to go in in a few weeks and show them how I wash and style my hair so they can learn how real curlies do it. Since I met him he has done another curly and told her that I don't use shampoo and that he thinks she should try that too. :T
I gave him one of my books on caring for curly hair today and he's going to read it and we're working up to me doing something more fun. He's a good colourist, which is a huge bonus, and so I went lighter today (for dh) but because I have found him and he's not to expensive infeel like I can have fun....like have some autumn tones put through in autumn, then go blonder again next summer etc.
It's really me trying to start taking care of myself in a more adult and less Hicksville way. It's always been a bit all or nothing and and so getting into a routine and getting a good relationship with a hairdresser who is not a curly expert but is prepared to learn and help is part of that. I want to try and get more of a routine.
He has really mixed clientele, lots of older ladies, and I've seen him work with a few over the two appointments while I have my foils in and he's genuinely sweet and caring about how they feel and look. He makes their days better and I can see they are really find of him. I thought to day that what he did made huge impact on a huge number of quite ordinary people over a week. What an amazing opportunity to bring happiness to people.0 -

Fr me to take a photo I have to get the camera out, snap, remove the card, fire up the laptop, slide the card into the laptop, connect the laptop to the Internet, then either move the photo onto this PC or upload it to flickr. Consequently .... I rarely do anything of the sort.
In here, for most of the day (even in high summer), it's too dark to take photos, or even read food packets (have to take them to the patio doors to read them. Then, come evening time, the low energy lightbulbs aren't enough to see anything either.... so no evening/night photos either.0 -
I'll join you in that sentiment

.
Just keep picturing it finished.
(I have never been brave enough to face such disruption..so live in a cramped style free home)0
