I don't care either way. That's more neutral.
No reason it shouldn't be a white male but it just seems that if 8 out of 8 have been white males have they really been recruiting from the whole possible talent pool?
How about Adrian Lester?
Edit: Seems to be 8:1 on being a female, full odds here:

There's a few people I think would make fabulous time lords, though I doubt any of them would be chosen for pretty obvious reasons (way too rich, famous, picky or up to something else): Jim Parsons, Daniel Day Lewis, Helen Mirren, Johnny Lee Miller, Jane Horrocks, James Earl Jones, Benedict Cumberbatch....
Maybe we should have a fantasy table of NP time lord picks.
Eric Cantona would be my choice.0 -

When I were a lad I remember Dr Who was meant to be educational so he travelled with a science and a history teacher and alternated visiting the past or other worlds. The audience figures went up and down like a yoyo when the public found the historical ones boring as I certainly did.
When at one point it was revealed he wasn't human I moaned about why was he obsessed with human history until my dad suggested it was because he'd run away from his own planet but our planet's population looked like his species, so he could travel in time and blend in which seemed straightforward a
nd plausible to me.,
There was an episode when we saw him regressing and I'm sure there were a range of previous doctors . Mind you they were all white males too.
Edit: I suppose there's another non-PC side to this as well- would they ever consider a blind/deaf/ wheelchair-bound doctor. I've a feeling that's a no.There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Falling into the 'white male' trap, I'll go for Boris Johnson.0 -
There are certain things which out my furren blood.
Amoung them I include dislike of month python and doctor who.
If its written and accepted as a white male character if I cared I might say I feel as enthusiastic about changing it as I feel great about all male performances of swan lake. That is to say about as enthusiastic as a bath in cold baked beans.0 -

I don't think it is just political correctness that has made me frustrated that the last few doctors have been white men. I can't see why the doctor can not be reincarnated as a different race or a female.
Er... every doctor in its fifty year history has been a white man. There have been female timelords, and timelord of different races, but the Doctor has always been a white man.
Doctor Who is chock full of strong female characters.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Hmm - perhaps my Doctor opinion should not matter that much not being a watcher of the show....Monty Python - not that bad but wouldn't go out of my way to see, only 'Life of Brian' would fall in to the close to genius category.I think....0 -
The black line at the bottom will one day be grey (to match all our fascias and down pipes etc) but is black ATM to ease the mind of the historical buildings person. The yellow is darker shade than the original colour at the back of the house, but quite cheerful. It's a small bit of building, so when we repaint the back (which will be soon) we'll probably repaint the black grey everywhere along the base, but go the darker yellow over the whole house.
We'll have to paint quite frequently so have opted for an inexpensive paint in a 'fair' nod to the original colour at this stage. I'm hoping it will look cheerful in winter. In truth the colour is a little 'clean' for me, But it looks good next to the brick, which paler, grubbing yellows weren't. A dirty slubby 'cream' neutral might look ok, but really cold through winter. The back of the house is, IMO, quite brutish, and in a cold, brutish colour this is only going to be worse. It will be better in the distant future when I have stuff growing over the back of the house.
I also hate that little 1960s window open can see on the first floor. I want to get planning to let us put a little sash window in there instead. Not one of the windows on the back of the house match, we have two different triple case mental, the window we put in and the French windows we out in, some 1960s (I think) French windows, and a Victorian sash, and a mother little square window. So I'm hoping I can twist their arm over the 1960s window in the future.0 -
That brick wall looks...um....interesting.
Two of the bricks near the top look like they are not attached to their neighbours.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
