Secondly battery strimmers cost about 3x corded ones so 'posh alert' time.
Has a house
Has a house with a front lawn
Battery strimmer
I never knew they did battery ones. I had a strimmer once, about 23 years ago - it was cheap and made my hand/arm buzz so much that it would take ages to do a 15'x20' lawn. I then gave it to my parents, dad used it a few times - and probably had the same issues .... so it was hung on a hook in the garage, then moved house with them .... and then hung on a hook at the new address for 16 years before I did the house clearance and had it binned0 -
Been using the new Flickr. Signed up for a new account and attempted to upload two sets of photos to find how it works. Took me ages to fathom it out .... think I've got the hang now of "the basics" which was to upload the two sets of photos as two separate sets.... althugh I found the mechanism 4rse-about-face to some degree.0

We don't have any of those - no house, no front lawn (no back lawn, either, just a paved tiny courtyard) and no strimmer of any kind.
OTOH, we're going to spend the weekend with my parents - who don't have a strimmer either, but have an "all around the house" lawn, and a sort of tractor-mower, thing....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
We have a very old sit on lawn mower that was gifted to us and spends a lot of time in the repairers.
It is however a godsend. It takes a long time to cut our grass. It's not that its that huge, it just takes a long time. The sit on lawn mower makes it something I can do and something I can do alone, independently. I love it.
It doesn't do as nice a job though as a good push mower.
ATM old girl is doing the grass at the back, sometimes I through the geese in there.0 -
A neighbour's sheep do my parents' orchard, there are those metal things round the trees to stop the sheep munching the fruit trees.
My Mama takes a lot of pride in every apple, pear, quince, medlar etc produced by the orchard. She dug up all the old fruit trees single-handed, and re-planted 30 saplings on her own. My bruv helped her do another 25. So she's very proprietorial about them. Fair enough, I think!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Ahh, well, the horses pruned our fruit trees for me this spring, not planned of course!
My fruit trees of pride are the six pears I have planted outside our kitchen, that coral shoot was off one. I am preaching them...but have cheated a bit. They went in winter before last and are already starting to look really quite good. In five years I hope they will look pretty splendid.0 -

The other thing I need to ask them to check is my lymph glands as it is where skin cancer goes to. However I only have potentially pre-cancerous cells there, it wasn't where my excision was. That's scary though. My head is a bit in the sand for the moment while I rule everything else out. If it was lymph glands, it should be going through the ones in my underarm, not those in my groin if that makes sense.
I've probably spelt dexa wrong. my mother has osteoporosis, she had a dexa scan as her elder sister was diagnosed with it. It measures bone density. She was given medication that she failed to take for long and now has hip pain. A further dexa scan revealed low bone density in her hip joint - a sign of osteoporosis.
It is calcium that you need and vitamin D helps the body absorb the calcium.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. As you all seem to think I take money saving to far I trhought I would describe a purchase on Sunday.
(Bosch) Steam generator iron was broken (again, it had been replaced 3 times under the 2 year warranty but this had now expired) so we needed a new one.
First stop hotukdeals to see what was available and cheap (and not a Bosch or a Morphy Richards which we have also had before and has been rubbish). Best deal was a phillips at Currys reduced from '179.99' to '89.99' (145 at Amazon, CamelCamelCamel checked).
So next off to topcashback/quidco to see what was on offer - both had 1.5% for order online and collect and it was in stock at local store so order placed
Off to the shops - currys? No, Morrisons of course where out comes the 3% cashback credit card to purchase £90 of Currys gift vouchers. Why? Buy vouchers at Morrisons and you get 1p per £10 of vouchers discount on petrol so £90 vouchers = £5.40 off a 60l fill up.
Then on to Currys. Time to discuss extended warranties - £20 gets you an immediate replace service for 3 years. Offer to pay £100 for iron plus warranty accepted by sales person, which they put through the till as a £10 discount on the price of the iron. (I know, missed a trick, should have gone for £100 of vouchers at Morrisons but putting the last £10 of the purchase on credit card at least gives me section 75 protection)
Finally home to look up on saynoto0870 the number to cancel the extended warranty for a full £20 refund.
Ace MSE work but...how much time did that take, including travel time?
What was the opportunity cost in terms of enrichment and social engagement...such as for yourself or doing something with wife and lttlies ?0 -
This usually works for me. However, some garments end up nearly good enough for work, but not quite. In that case, I hang them (on hangers) in the bathroom, where they will be subjected to steam every time anybody has a shower. After a couple of days, all the creases have usually dropped out without any effort on my part.
i wear a lot of linen clothes in summer. They are ironed by my lovely husband without any effort on my part:o0
