We all love the elephant analogy!!
Bit the bullet & started on the seat covers for the boat - curious shapes made me very aprehensi ve but halfway through the first & worst cover. Taking a break & will 'regroup' tomorrow & finish No 1 - then only 6 to goI'm going to 'project plan' them to complete a cetain amount per day. I should be able to do at least 2 per week comfortably.
GQ - Toads, how lovely - I've got frogs but havn't seen any toads round here for years. Shame 'cos apparently they live a long time.Did find a lizard once underneath a tub in my greenhouse but as i'd disturbed him havn't seen him sinceSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I have emptied the top shelf of the book shelves in the living room and Im going to corral all the old photo's and bits and bobs stuffed on it into a handy folder. Have a small pile for re-cycling and hoping for more. Will then work my way round the room anti clockwise till its tidy. Have a Lloyd Loom box to move upstairs to the spare room for a bedside cabinet so that will clear a space.Clearing the junk to travel light

Nice one, Happygreen.
The thing which gets me about Stuff is that, even when you've decided not to keep it, dealing with it still takes time. I can quite see why some people with humungous amounts of Stuff reach a level of paralysis with it.
:rotfl: GQ, what gets me is how I can actually switch of my field of vision and NOT see stuff for months! My dearest OH calls that " his inertia"...I'm trying to deal with my stuff and the girls' first but sometimes I sneak out something he surely won't miss
You have my respect for dealing with the outdoors now. Far too cold for me even contemplating it although I have snipped away a bit at the trees that used to be a hedge a few days ago :rotfl:First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, and then you win - Gandhi0 -

Small bit of porch tackled today; I Freecycled a small table that was cluttering up the middle, sort of at the edge of a complete tide of kipple, holding it all back. And stopping me from getting at it... Anyway, gone now, eventually - first Freecycler, having said they could pick it & a chair from the garage up at 10.30 am, emailed at 11 to ask whether she could pick it up next week instead... sorry, no. I also took a boot-load of rags to the Tip (just one lampshade came back, will go off onto my stall on Wednesday) and a big bag of good clothes to the Sally Army collection point.
Thank you all; have otherwise had a horrible sort of day, and just realising that I have managed to achieve something positive has lifted my mood quite a bit.Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
