Taps Pigpen lightly on the wrist - get it gone young lady!!Must use my stash up!0 -
Send it, pigpen, send it now.
DD came out of the bathroom yesterday with an empty toilet roll and put it straight into recycling. Bless her. Still wetting the bed. Thank you for the suggestion earlier. We do take her to the loo when he go to bed. She is good when we get her up and goes back to sleep without fuss. It's just that her weeing in the night doesn't wake her. However, things are getting less soaked I suppose. Her pjs were wet but there was no big damp patch on the sheet today. I guess that's progressing.
Washing is on the line. I am loving the sunshine.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Mindset change moment: was about to walk down to the high road to get shoes from the cobbler and something from the doctor when I figured that, if I was walking past/into charity shops on my way then I may as well bring a bag of stuff to donate - had a quick look around and found about 8 books to donate, mainly from my A-level English days. Books I enjoyed but wouldn't read again any time soon.
Send it pigpen!0 -
I was meant to be going out this morning but the baby, who has been unwell all week, has decided to have an epic nap.. almost 2 hours now.. she NEVER naps more than 5 minutes during the day.. even the doorbell didn't wake her! So I have decluttered some bills and phonecalls and am going to fill another binbag so when I send a boy with the stuff later to charity shop he is balanced when walking..
.
I have a mountainous box upstairs I am intending to liberate this weekend.. some I am thinking of sticking on ebay but I think it might just all go to charity shop.. I cannot afford to make monetary donations so this way they can get money and I feel I am helping in a small way.. I did consider the place that buys clothes off you but that is in the opposite direction and makes me anxious.. so charity shop is the way to go.. and now I have thought about it.. the box can be quickly flicked through and it can ALL go to charity shop, I am seriously sick of the piles and piles of stuff..
Also heading out are.. the rocking horse.. if KH doesn't want it I will sell it, the glass cabinet, my sister is having it when she moves in a couple of weeks, a treadle sewing machine.. I'll advertise it on gumtree then just freegle it if necessary.. a baby changing table and a sofa.. I think my son may be getting it but it has to go. When they have gone I have promised myself I am allowed to decorate one room... not sure which yet, but I will get it done.
Task 1.. text KH about rocking horse.. he can collect it next week if he wants it. DONE!.. see it wasn't so hard.
Task 2.. pics of stuff to sell
Task 3.. list items on gumtree
Task 4.. dismantle changing tableLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

I think this clearing out business is going to be great bribery for my children :rotfl:
After a successful clear out from their rooms for DD's jumble sale yesterday - which she did bring some other stuff back in (which I don't mind as that doll hasn't left her side since!) DS has just reminded me that his school are having a car boot sale to raise money also this weekend. He has just came home from school and said if I clear out some more toys can I get some more. I'm happy enough with that as his room is the worser of the two! PLus I knew there were still toys in there that he never used but was just refusing to let go!

Catch 'em young, IrishRose12, and install good habits for a lifetime.
Sounds like chez pigpen will soon be empty and plenny of room to redecorate. Excellent progress getting big stuff away.
I've tired but have finished a little project which has been hanging around for weeks so that's out of the way. Been getting on top of a few things and had some spare time before work today so cleared off a bit of counter, scrubbed my potstand and the utensil pot. These are beside the cooker so get a bit mucky, but there's nowhere else to put them and besides, it's a kitchen not a museum.
Home is looking a lot tidier and I'm finding myself soothed and housework a lot easier than normal. A lot of it is forming good habits and sticking with them, don't you think? Like the loo roll leaves the bathroom and goes straight into the recycling bin. Or bag, in my home.
I've bulk cooked something tonight as I had the oven on full-whack, so one for me and two for the freezer and they're added to the list. And three replacements for the storecupboard next time I'm in the shop.
Yesterday I treated myself to a 50p charity shop book. Fun read, and several hours' worth of entertainment and then it's out of here. Keep them churning to keep them earning (for charity).
I shall be glad when I have got through the diddy bottles and tubes of shampoo and conditioner which I hauled out of the bathroom drawers and parked on the windowsill so that they're right under my eye and will be used. It'll probably take a couple of months, but I'll keep them there until I do use them and that'll be the last of the diddly ones outta here.
The toiletries herd is thinning. I don't use a lot of smellies, being a low-maintenance soap and water kinda woman, but I'd got a few bits as gifts which were being used up. The Xmas 2012 foam bath is all gone, the bottle rinsed and recycled.
Not before I'd had a swither about keeping it, lol. In case I wanted to decant some of a 1 litre bottle into this small bottle for some reason I can't articulate........ Will I ever grow out of my yearning to keep any and all packaging materials which come my way?!
Anyroad, am already planning my dump run (or runs) tomorrow. I do envy those with cars who can get a lot of stuff out at once. With a pushbike it's a bit more complicated.
Oh, and I had an offer of something from a friend to use of my allotment and turned it down as would have been clutter, so feeling good. I have to allow myself not to take in anything that any friend or relative wants to give me. It's not like they won't like me or something if I refuse - hope not anyway.:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Rocking horse GONE!
Sewing machine is going to his too.. another huge lump out.. it wouldn't fit in the car today but will be going Monday at the latest.. I feel no attachment to that.
I have 6 boxes of toys and random assorted gubbins to sort through which is on my easter 'to-do' list...
We are spending some days at OH's mums *boo hiss* but I have a whole week of flinging time..
6 boxes in Back room (plus maybe another 3 or 4 stacking boxes in the alcove, under the coat rack, behind the sewing machine.. otherwise known as the pit of despair)
I am window shopping for sofas.. I have no money so can't buy any but it is cheap to look.. they are my incentive.. getting the back room flooring sorted, and the room decorated then I want to do the front room and get new sofas, then sofas for the middle room and decorate the lover half of the hall/stairs/landing. Somewhere in the midst of all this I need to repaint and tile the kitchen, repaint the bathroom and I am considering tiling in the loo too... I have a plan.. it is VERY grand! I have no time scale thankfully!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I loved my rocking horse when I was a child. It was a plastic, dapple grey one, with an iron grey mane and tail that I remember seemsed absolutely enormous when I was young. I had to be lifted up to ride it. Once I was big enough to ride it, I was it on a real pony.
Is it seriously wrong of me to want an adult sized rocking horse now? I really, really want oneGood enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0
