My large breasts and me.............

I have the same problem - actually fairly similar measurements, i'm a 30GG, 24" waist, and about 37" hips, and i agree it is a nightmare to dress!!! I would say that wrap tops and dresses ( ones that actually tie rather than stitched down ones) are about the most flattering thing and will tend to actually fit and flatter. they can sometimes be a little low but a pretty vest underneath works a treat. Decent bras are also vital so get yourself to bravissimo!! theit fitting ervice is second to none0

Pity you missed the programme "How to Look Good Naked" on Channel 5 last Tuesday, because it featured a lady who hated her larger breasts. By the end she loved them and knew how to dress to show her shape off to best advantage. The week before it was a lady who hated looking at her tummy. It's hosted by Gok Wan, who has just brought out a book I believe. Whatever your problem, the right underwear is the key. I don't have a problem as such, but have promised myself that next time in London I am visiting Rigby & Peller (they have a branch in Central London and have just opened another at Brents Cross). Once you have been measured and know their styles, then you can order on the internet.0

I agree bravissimo are good with thier range, and the tops they do are quite good as the sizings include something along the lines of slim but curvy (cant remember exact term). Only problem i had was when i was measured up the girl squeezed me into a 30F, didnt think this could be right as i was bulgin round the side straps, she said it was normal, NO!!! you should not have bumby bits. I went to La Senza tried on a 34 E, and no bmps, lots of support and comfortable.
My advice is to just pick up a few sizes and try them on till you find one that feels comfortable, make sure theback strap doesnt creep up (should go in a straight line round chest)0 -
there should be a webiste somewhere called 'bravissimo changed my life' lol
i know there are a lot of things more important, but as a teenage girl, i was fitted in a major department store and the only bra they could offer me was a minimiser.... not what i needed!
i'd recommend going to bravissimo and getting fitted, trying lots of makes and then buying one or two. their clothes are fantastic too. when you know you're size and know what styles fit you, go to https://www.brastop.com (at work so can't check the link works so it might be .co.uk) where you can get them at really reduced prices. they have a shop near Victoria station in london too.
also you can get bargains on ebay - look for BBWT (brand new with tags) so that you don't get second hand ones.:happyhear0 -
Just wanted to say I have the same problem, 38E but a size 12 bottom. (mind you, I gave up smoking and have been eating/cooking OS so that may have moved to 40 and size 14! lol) You are not alone... I came out of a shop the other day upset as a size 18 shirt wouldn't get anywhere close to closing around my bust and that was the largest size they did! Will have to try that brastop.com - thanks for that Bungle Girl & meloncholly. The only ones I seem to find are either like scaffolding or really expensive - none of those pretty little sets here I'm afraid (sorry lads!) lolC Card £5218.68 (Feb 2011)£2 coins (No 085) - £190Mort overpayments 2011 - £418.060

this is really good advice, and exactly what i would have advised too.
(another hourglass girly, me!)
also the minimiser bra from marks and spencers does a good job if you want make them less noticeable!0 -
Well my 1st Bravissimo arrivede today!
I thought no way will that fit me, it looked huge. OH joked if we were on a plane and it was going to crash, I could whip and off and use it as a parachuteI'd be safe.......
My chest stand proud now! It will take some getting used to, but it is sooooooo comfy.
Thanks for all your advice, off to buy more parachutes!:happyhear We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.

Glad you have got yourself sorted! Excuse the pun but doesn't it feel like a huge weight has been lifted now you wearing a good fitting bra???!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Keep a check on the bravissimo website as they often have sales. Also, once you find a few makes of bra's that fit you well search on ebay. I managed to buy a few panache and freya bra's for half the price of bravissimo they were brand new, just last seasons colours!Fight for clean hospitals, C-DIFF takes lives

Great advise - I'd also suggest that you put a style/colour consultation on your next birthday/chrissie pressie wishlist.
At my worst (on the pill) I was measured as a 38GG by John Lewis and they still couldn't find anything comfortable for me except sports bra's (I have broad shoulders and a big back) I'd guess I'm down to about an E cup now, and was often self conscious.
A couple of years back my friend was training to be a style consultant and I was one of her guinea pigs - what a gift it was - I now KNOW what colours, styles, clothes shapes, fits & necklines suit me and more importantly what doesn't! It was so useful and informative I'd strongly recommend you having a consultation.
FWIW my friend passed and is doing really well in her career and even has books published http://www.accentuate.me.uk/

It does feel like a weight has been lifted
I have got my Mum looking out for me (she always gets really good bargains!)
I would love a style consultation, my bday is not until January, so christmas it is, unless I make OH feel really guilty and get an early present.
I will look at your friends website and I must just manage to buy her book.
Thank you again and I must say, even though I am bigger than I thought.....my chest feels lighter!:happyhear We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.
