Ebay - changes in picture standards

Do the new rules apply to externally hosted pictures in the description box?
I often put 'artwork' and text on my pictures - mainly labelling different parts and putting dimension lines next to the items. Also all of my pictures carry my logo.0 -
I'm sure it's only to pictures uploaded to ebay - I imagine it's to make them cleaner, but also so they can overlay stuff on the pictures like I've seen on the US site occasionally, where this change came in last year.0

It will be a real relief if that's the case. I always repeat my listing pic in the description to save paying the super size fee. It would be quite easy to have two versions to make the one uploaded conform to the standards.
My only problem is that now I have moved over to the the new version of photobucket I can't upload photos with my little one or wife in the room...
Really fed up with the pictures of fat/ugly girls that apparently need love as well and the bored housewives standing in their kitchens in see through nighties!0 -
There was some talk that we can't have pictures in our listings anymore- but I don't know how that discussion panned out.
It was something to do with a typo in one of the announcementsI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Obviously a typo. The announcement says quite clearly "No picture, no listing"You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

Assuming the meaning was in the body of the listing. I have some additional information as a picture file (as do a lot of sellers) as it means I can update this image and all the information on my listings changes - really useful as the find and replace too in bulk update doesn't work properly. I've had to alter 800+ listings manually before, and it's not fun.0 -
All sounds quite reasonable.0

As a private seller, I find using multiple photos very useful with more expensive items, as it allows viewers to have a good look at, in, and close-up to the item, from a range of viewpoints.
It all sounds very nice of eBay to start providing this for free, allowing me to dump auctiva... where's the catch?

Just twigged that only me and one other of the 6 or 7 sellers in my area has actual picture of their item on their listing, the others have a "representative image".0

Ebay aren't as big as you think. They boast of 35 million listings in the UK, but ift hey were to clamp-down on all the plebs who multi-list the same thing 20 - 30 times, then I would hazard a guess that the true number of listings is closer to 15 million.
Ebid are continuously growing. they have tripled the number of active listings in 2 years. I have had an account on ebid since 2006 and an ebay account since the day they bought Freeserve auctions.
I found it hard selling on ebid so did not list anything for years. Last year I listed a load of genuine ink carts for an Epson printer & got 3x the price they sell for on ebay & no 10% fvf to take away either.
I have also sold games consoles on there as well. Trouble is, unlike ebay, some stuff never seems to sell on ebid as the people who want it usually look on ebay first.Never Knowingly Understood.
