You can check whether your own vehicle is insured here http://www.askmid.com/

Of course they don't actually require proof that it's your vehicle, just the vehicle reg and your confirmation ;)

Hmm. Just checked mine and says it's not on the database (Had it insured for about 6 months now). I guess Ill have to phone my car insurance company

yes get hold of your insurers, as you cannot enter you car onto the database and for the sake of getting tugged going past ANPR traffic cars or vans i would get the insurers to put in the request to MID as insured as matter of urgency.

Yeah, that could be me. BUT for me to take an interest, the tax disc would need to be at least a month out of date.

BTW, sarcasm is the lowest form of whit.

Yes you did, accusing someone of being a criminal was not your best moment, especially as you could not be further from the truth if you tried.
I have no problem, with anyone discussing or debating, but I draw the line at you using such derogatory terms, you certainly would not speak to me in such a way personally, that I can guarantee, Nor would I to you , so some civility goes a long way.

Playing devil's advocate, the post I read did not directly accuse you of anything IMHO.

Yeah will do. I've been past plenty of police cars, but I guess they might not have had the ANPR thing.

It's quite something for an insurance company not to report it as registered, when I've had the insurance for 6 months (Had the car for two months) though I don't really hold my insurance company in high regard

Well, my tax disc is all valid, up until January 2014 (I think) or December 2013. Something like that. It's cheap enough to tax, I guess :)

OK, let us try to be constructive about this.
Where would you draw the line at not getting involved in reporting a crime?
In every post you have made, it is obvious that your opinion seems to be that people should ignore crime/mind their own business/not grass people up.
If everyone took your advice or acted like you, then society would be in a very sorry state, full of people who look the other way, close the curtains, turn a blind eye.
Of course, if you are the "sensitive" kind, worried about reprisals, then you are probably not overly concerned about what happens to other people.

HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF THE CRIMINALS SUDDENLY PICKED ON YOU OR YOUR FAMILY?

Just curious. How do you offer that guarantee?
