You can speed up the process by reporting the untaxed car online. I think both DVLA and councils usually have forms to do this. I found they checked the cars out within a day or two.0

Under new laws, vehicles should be continually insured even when not used, unless SORNd.
So shes commiting an offence anyway.
Report it to a local police station/officer, they can put some intel in about it.
Uninsured drivers cause misery to hundreds of people each year and put our premiums up.
Give the police as much info, reg no where she lives, when she drives etc.
Do it for us honest drivers!0 -

sounds to me like the authorities are on her case.
the fines and PCNs she's gettin is probably because she doesnt have a permit, tax disc which all lead to not have insurance, because you can't get a tax disc without insurance and you normally cant get a council parking permit without a tax disc.
These fines are going to get multiplied several times over, I saw it on a documentry a £40 parking fine multiplies several times over. It gets doubled whern you dont pay within 14 days, and then after 28 days it gets sent to debt cvollectors who slap on a large fee and then charge interest/penalties and what not.. The bailiff documentry I was watching a long time back showed a guy who had thousands of pounds in debts which all started from 1 parking penalty notice.0 -

Yes, apparently many people did this about Jimmy Saville and look how that ended:(
Never ignore something which could be putting others at risk.
The chances are that these vehicles do not have tax BECAUSE they do not have an MOT, which means that they are potential deathtraps.0 -
