    Good morning everyone :)

Sistercas, did you try a glass of milk before your ibuprofen? They can be very irritating to the gut, like all NSAIDs, and should always be taken after food. You could always try the gel but not at the same time as the oral.

    :)

no i took it before i went to bed on an empty stomach , night time is the only time i cant eat lol x

Another quiet day here today, work all day ("planning" period as we speak... planning is going well ;)), a ton of marking, then home for tea... I've got fish/potatoes/veg on the menu plan, but I might just do some of last nights leftovers before they make it into the freezer and save myself the cooking!

I need to tidy the front room again too, doesn't seem to matter what I do, the sofa and coffee table collect junk - I keep trying to blame the boyfriend, but I may just have to accept that it's me ;) I'm tempted to rearrange a couple of bits too, so may pull it all out and sort it into a better arrangement... Assuming that I don't get distracted by the quilting project that's on the go, I'm trying not to do it all in one go, but it's too tempting at the moment.

Quick trip to the shop on the way home from work, need milk and plain flour for the baking tomorrow, and my food lesson on Thursday

    Enjoy your day everyone :)

  • Morning all, another late one from me but I have been out and about since 7:30.

I took DS2 for a blood test. He was brave but insisted on a McDonald's breakfast to help heal his poorly arm. He loves pancakes so I felt I should treat him. Such a pushover!

Alternating between hot and cold packs can work too. I hope you feel better soon.

.Her DD is just starting to show her bump, and is only 10 weeks last Friday. So every Friday she is a week nearer to her babies.my friend is excited but also worried as her DD is 41 and its possibly her one and only chance at motherhood.I said well shes now a quarter of the way through so we have everything crossed for her.

It's a strange time isn't it? You want to be happy and excited but there's that element of worry. My Sil is 11 weeks and my brother asked me when the worrying stops, I told him that it doesn't!

Not going out today though have lots of housework to catch up on including washing I think this will have to go on the radiators later though. Another challenge I have set myself is no to use the TD unless no choice (OH uniform maybe). I have to confess before my conversion (or in my ignorance) I was one of these people who said " I never dry clothes on radiator / airier I hate to see it that's what I have the TD for" -hangs head in shame-.

I am this person. My tumble dryer is my vice. I don't drink or smoke so I use my TD. I do use my line when it's sunny but otherwise it's the tumble dryer.

I'm at work this afternoon, so it's a quick tea tonight. Leftovers into bubble and squeak with toad in the holes. Last nights braised steak was gorgeous. I'm definitely making that again.

    Have fun today people.

    Morning all,

Halight, thanks for the tip about Aldis tinned carrots. I dont use tinned vegetables as a rule, preferring fresh or frozen peas but i might get a couple of tins in.... just to try them out.

Postie has been and delivered £50 in Debenhams vouchers courtesty of ShopandScan. Ebay here i come!

All i can hear at the moment is bang bang bang. Two of the houses in my road quite close to me are being modernised/done up whatever. Next door but one, the old man died about 12 months ago and the house has been sold and gutted. So sad to see his furniture, doors, everything he once treasured, chucked on the garden in a heap. Next door but 3 the old man died about 5 years ago but since the house was a council house and he refused any modernisation to it whilst he was alive (he'd been living there 40 years to my knowledge) they too have had to start from scratch before it can be rented out. They have only just started work on that house too (money had to be allocated from council funds apparently as they were considering selling it off).

Anyway, both houses are being worked on and a right racket they are making i can tell you. At this rate i'm going to have to turn my music up.:D

    Jobs for today

    [STRIKE]Dust upstairs/downstairs[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Bathroom[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]De poop the back lawn (thanks girls)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Vacuum downstairs[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Tea - Chicken (and hope i dont i dont recreate the disaster i made yesterday).[/STRIKE]

Oh and i want to watch at least 1 episode of Butterflies (season 1) sometime too.

    Have a good day all.

Glad you are feeling less shaken and wish you could be all wrapped up in stuff that would let you bounce ;)

So pleased my dd looks as if she can slowly get back to work after months of illness and her employers have been really good. Youngest comes back from uni at weekend for a few weeks and might have all dds home for Easter weekend.:j

Making quick lunch of sausage sarnies or beans on toast then big pot of veg soup for tonight. I got the biker's diet book from library and might try out the mince and onion pies using pizza dough instead of pastry. I was looking at the book in the supermarket yesterday and a complete stranger (middle aged man) said how fantastic it was and that he had lost three stone since November!

Snow is starting to melt and sun is trying to come out which makes such a difference to lifting mood.

Hug to all who could use one.

    Hi all

I'm finally logging on (later even than yesterday) and catching up with the tail end of yesterday's thread. ;)

DG many thanks for posting the Skye piccies – she is just so sweet; what a beautiful little face:happyhear – I love her little bed with the paw-print motif, too. Give her a hug from Auntie Wolfy.:o

A thought on food cupboards – I have the contents of ours, and the freezer, all listed on a spreadsheet on my flash drive, and when I use something, I alter the amount. For instance, I can look at the spreadsheet and know for certain that I have 8 tins of baked beans in the cupboard, and 12 vegetarian sausages in the freezer at this time. I also have three boxes of frozen cherries, and two boxes of frozen blackberries. Don't worry, I'm not going to list the entire contents, but you get my drift. I meal plan, as much as anything because I need Mr LW to prep the veggies the night before and leave them ready for me to use. One thing though, I get Mr LW to sit with me to put forward ideas of what meals he'd like – that way, he has no call to whinge about what's served up.:D

We're having egg fried rice tonight, with loads of different “vegetabubbles” as he calls them, plus I'll cut up some Quorn strips to put in.;)

Sistercas take care of that shoulder – that's how I started with this latest rubbish, about 18 months ago now. If you absolutely have to take ibuprofen at night, would it help to take it with a little glass of milk to wash it down? I don't know - I'm on Diclofenac + Misoprostol by way of an NSAID. (Apparently the Misoprostol part stops the Diclofenac from doing nasty things to the stomach lining. Apparently.)

The renaming of Halight to Headlight was indeed an autocorrect error, as I recall - I think the other alternative it came up with was Halibut, but I guess that sounded a tad fishy.:rotfl: I'll get my coat.....
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
