Iphone contract problems- Orange

I have just got my dd an iphone 5 (the works 41)with Orange.
She has 3000 txts and unlimited calls (I thought this was the other way round, but checking the paperwork it is correct).

The problem I have is I can't find out how many txts she has used, I have tried on the online account but it just tells me she sent 50 on the 14th March (I got the phone the 12th and today is the 18th!) I have txt 150 and it says the information isn't available.
How can I find out how many txts she has left?
Thanks

I don't have iPhone, but it took me 30 seconds to find

  • 3000 is classed as 'unlimited' but their fair usage is 3000. (I know, I know)! It won't show on her bundled info either. Not sure if you can reset counters on iPhones to monitor this like you used to on old phones.

I am not sure either if they charge you if you go over. If you call customer service they can give you 'unbilled' cost which would show if you have incurred extra charges. Bit of a pain though!

Sorry but am I missing something. There isn't anything there except other people complaining that they can't work out how many txts they have sent either!

    3000 is classed as unlimited!
I can see this is going to be a problem. I wont be able to find out how many she has used as its classed as unlimited, but the limits are that low (for a teenage girl that txts constantly) that she will probably go over them and get charged?
I wish we had stayed with 02 :(

Sorry I forgot to say that I can check online if she has incurred any charges but its not upto date (48hrs), and she could have 2 days worth before it comes up. I would also have to remember to check her online account a couple of times a day :(

Can you get out of a phone contract when you have had it for less than a week?!

I think Grumbler's idea is that you download a sms counter app from the app store ;)
It's not just about the money

I might be missing something either. What I see is some text counter built into iPhone (or downloadable?) that you can use to see how many texts your DD sent .

I've just rang the phones 4 u, where I took out the contract and there is nothing they can do.
They reckon that they all offer 3000 txts as unlimited!

Looking online I have no cancellation options other than if I have poor signal. How likely are they to take the phone back if we go in and say we have poor signal?
Phones 4 u told me last week that they dont offer O2 contracts anymore, yet the lad I spoke to just admitted they do offer upgrades (we were on 02 already!) just not new contracts, so we could of just upgraded on 02.
My old 02 has just been cancelled and takes effect this Friday. Is it too late to un-cancel it lol!

I can't see any link to a txt counter on that link Grumbler? Its just screen shots and chat. If I could find a txt counter that would solve all my problems!

What if I change my mind?
Under the Distance Selling Regulations, you have 7 working days after the delivery date (not including the day of delivery) to inform us of your intention to return an item. A ‘working day’ is any day which is not a Saturday or Sunday or public holiday in the UK. You must follow these steps:

    1. Contact the Customer Support Team on 0844 871 2234 within 7 working days after the delivery date.
    2. You’ll then be required to send the goods back via Royal Mail Special Delivery at your own cost.
    3. Please return the goods to us within 7 days of your call to the Customer Support Team.
    4. When re-packaging the goods, you need to check:
      1. you have included the complete set of product items (including charger, battery, accessories, instruction manual and/or additional items that we originally sent to you, including any free gift;
      2. all the goods must be returned, where possible, with their original packaging, in as good a condition as they were in when they were delivered to you.
    5. Please retain proof of posting. The goods remain your responsibility until they are received by us.
However, as you started using the services the DSR don't apply.

It says: "Available In: Cydia " . After some reading I see that "Cydia is a software application for iOS that enables a user to find and install software packages on jailbroken iOS Apple devices". Bloody Apple! Event a primitive text counter seems to be a problem with them.

Thanks Grumbler. I thought I was missing something. You would think they could develope something so you could count your txts.
Other people must have the same problem if 3000 is classed as unlimited.

I am going to go over later and try and return it, due to the signal problem at home. I've just spoken to 02 and they can reinstate my 02 contract if I want as it wont cancel till friday. I'll have to try and get rid of this one first though.

What a pain. Why on earth did I trust phones 4 u, I have mystery shopped them enough times to know that they can't be trusted lol!
