I've made both 'Twink's' and 'Anzac's' and had them disappear in record time when my sons have arrived.

They both have built-in sniffer radar whenever their mumsy is baking :rotfl:.

    However, loving the idea of 'JackieO's 555's' - they'll be getting a practice-run this weekend :T.

Not biscuits - more of a rocky road - but the boys love helping. They are called 15's as you are supposed to use 15 of each thing but I eyeball it.
Can of condensed milk, digestive biscuits, glace cherries, choc chips. Squish it all together and roll it out in desicated coconut. You can add more or less what you like. I put almonds and raisins or zest. It sould be firm enought to slice once it's had a spell in the fridge.

    Hi BAGGY

Another one that sounds easy, but I'm absolutely hopeless without precise amounts ...........

Are you saying: 15 dig. biscuits / 15 glace cherries / 15 choc chips :undecided?

This sounds like the sort of thing that my OH would love - he's a pushover for anything with coconut in PLUS I've got all the ingredients in the cupboard :D.

My favourite biscuit recipe is a simple chocolate biscuit. The recipe came from my grandmother - I don't know where she got it from and she can't remember now. She used to make them loads when I was little and they are delicious - melt in your mouth. You can cook them for longer for a crispier biscuit or shorter for a more chewey one. YUM

    Ingredients

    4oz margarine

    2oz caster sugar

    5oz plain flour

    1 tablespoon cocoa

    Method

    • Cream together sugar and margarine
    • Add the other ingredients, stir
    • Roll into small balls, flatten, make lines on top with the back of a fork if you want
    • Cook in 160 degrees oven for half an hour

Just made some of these, only without rolling the dough balls in icing sugar before baking. Drizzled with lemon icing, they are now cooling.

I'd set myself a challenge of baking something today as part of my program to haul myself out of depression, so this recipe came just at the right time
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
