Then take it from there.
This is turning into a joke now, tried to get hold of my sorting office 8 times today and on each connection they were engaged, conveniently it is an 0845 number so that's cost me over a pound.
Royal Mail more like Royal joke!0 -
go down there in person - it's the best way. good luck0

Yeh I would go down there! Print of all the stuff the seller has given you and ask to see someone who knows what they are doing! this would annoy me too! first of all just to be safe start a dispute with paypal! If the seller is dogdey (sounds like the case) he could have sent an empty package to someone in your area.... just for the proof of sending!!

Which sorting office was it delivered from? The website should tell you that.0

Just drove down there in person, 8 mile round trip and even had to pay for parking.
They were totally unhelpful, I asked politely if they had any info as to who delivered the item and who signed for it and they claimed all info regarding deliveries are sent off every day so they do not have any of that information.
They told me to ring customer services, so I am going round in circles.
After lots of holding and button pressing customer services informed me their server was down and for me to ring back in the evening.
It's looking more and more like the postie may have delivered it to the wrong address or dare I say it the postie nicked it! Or it could be that the seller never sent it but all the tracking info checks in and he has a good feedback record.0 -

My only fear of firing a paypal dispute is that I will most likely lose as someone has signed for the item and all the seller has to do is inform paypal this and my dispute will go out the window along with my £100.0 -

I can't stand the !!!!!!! Royal Mail! I have missed so many letter's, even bank statements! Just because they are too lazy to do their job! I have had expensive memory cards lost in the post. Even a Sony PSP! They totally take the !!!!. When are they going to start acting professional?0

I have to send everything off either recorded or special as regular post is just so unreliable
However there have been several instances where my recorded delivery items have gone to the wrong address and a claim has had to be put in as the person who signed for it kept it.
Why does it take Royal Mail 4+ months to sort out compensation, that is well over the top, lack of competition has ruined Royal Mail. I look forward to using the new company.
Also hate the fact their customer service number takes forever to get through and when you do they are about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Another joke is the fact that the customer service number begins with 0845, another money making scheme.0 -
Powertron,
Have you actually asked the seller to confirm what address he put on the package? As someone has already said, your seller is responsible for making sure the parcel goes to the right address and he should be playing an instrumental part in helping you recover your parcel, not just giving you the tracking number. If he's put the wrong address on the parcel, then that's his fault!
Interesting thread this though...you would of thought SD would more or less guarantee you buyer would receive the item. How can you prove you put the right address on it anyway? Can Royal Mail confirm to which address it was delivered? If it was the wrong address then the seller can claim if it's a Royal Mail mistake. If it's the seller mistake, then he should be the one to refund you."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0
