Trip Advisor are a good place to look for the good, the bad and the ugly, do a search on 'blackpool hotels' and sort by popularity

Look out for single room supplements for anything other than single rooms with it being busy still with the Illuminations.

    Loads of choices here

There are a few Blackpool residents who post on here, (me included) so, if you find some possible B & B's that you want checking out...let us all know.

Am gobsmacked - mentioned this to hubby a couple of days ago and he was 'ugh, Blackpool. How can it be a debt free thing if you’re all planning to spend money at Blackpool!’

Today though, he said why don't I look into B&Bs (or camp sites:eek:), train costs or parking etc. He's currently earning overtime (never guaranteed income) so I'll be funnelling some of that into a Blackpool trip fund. It'll be the week after we get back from our holiday in Malaga (only holiday this year - LOL) and I'm going to be applying some MSE principles to that so we should have money left over (especially if I don’t take all our spending money with us).

So we’re still in the maybe side, but it’s more of a definitely maybe!

That's right, we can check out the deals and tell you how close to the town centre they are - as for camp sites cat4772, if you're wanting to heard towards the town or pleasure beach, this will be ok if you have a car with you, but if not it'll cost you quite a bit in taxi fares. There's a camp site quite near me called Marton Mere, and to get a taxi to the town centre from there is about £8/£9 per trip.

Cheaper staying in a B&B for a night or two.

There are some nice cheapish B&B's on Lonsdale Road which is right behind the football ground and has a massive car park and is also on the bus route from both the airport and train station so will be handy for however you are getting down.

What date are you coming and how many? (not read the thread so apologies if it has been posted)

Hiya - meet is on Sat 15th Sept, and there are 16 definates (although at least 3 of these are locals, so we won't all need accomodation). There are 15 possibly's aswell.

Why do you ask? Do you know someone who may be able to get some discounted accomodation? Can guarantee we'll buy you a drink if you do......

Not sure about discount KellsBells but I can nip round a few tomorrow and check availability etc.
They're reasonably cheap anyway (I've seen one at £12 per night B&B,).

Don't let the price put you off, I know it looks like it will be a hovel at that rate but a pal of mine had a hotel down that road and kept it spotless, I imagine the others will be the same.

Like I said I will make a few enquiries and let you know tomorrow.
