You realise you'll be coming to Blackpool during the 'lights' , so some prices may go up and should be busy. The area which includes Lonsdale Rd and the football club is South Shore and to be honest is a dive, but some money is and has been spent on regeneration in this area.
I hope you all have a good time while your there and you have got plenty of time to find some decent accomodation and save some money up for a good day/weekend."I AM THE GATEKEEPER OF MY OWN DESTINY" Nacho Libre

it will be funny though - how will we address each other? Bunny, Toto etc? or by our real names?!
I know you all as Bunny, Toto etc!"Stay Wonky":D

I wondered that too, particularly for someone like Lenny, who's said in the past he HAS to remain anonymous or he could jeopardise his job."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

we'll just call him Lenny - we don't even need to know his real name.

Good grief! I've only just seen this - as a Blackpool resident, I may well come and take a look at you all (or leave the county that weekend
) I can recommend some Hotels if anyone still needs to book.

nice one tom thumb - I'm off to check that route out now!
Edit: that is a shame- i'm going up on the Friday but it involves nearly 8 hour waiting at Dublin airport.
i'm keeping an eye on the Jetstream prices to see if they come down with the Southampton - Blackpool launch next week.
Excellent idea Tom Thumb - big thumbs up!!!"Stay Wonky":D

8 hours of guiness in Dublin - I can see the problem lol
I'll keep an eye on the southampton route from here too as I have rellies there.
They were supposed to be making Blackpool airport more accessible but it hasn't really happened. Most airports fly to Dublin though so it's worth checking various options. I've got flights booked for October Blackpool/Dublin for 2p return (thanks mse), it's just a 30min trip.0 -
Bum.
I went to book my flight from Southampton to Blackpool just now. The service should launch today but they have withdrawn it and it won't be operating.
So, I'll have to get the train. Off out for a bit but on my return I will be trying out the wonders of split ticketing and get my train booked instead!
EDIT: result!!! Went to the travel board and a fab MSE'er pointed me in the direction of Virgin trains. I've got two singles travelling at exactly the time I wanted to - £22 each way."Stay Wonky":D
