Household Chores

Good Afternoon all you lovely people, I'd like your opinion on the small matter of household chores, the story is that as of this week I no longer have my fantastic cleaner, so the division of jobs is
Me:
Work full time
Shopping
Cooking
Washing
Ironing
and now back to doing all the cleaning
Gardening (enjoy this so not much of a chore!)
Small decorating jobs
OH:
Work full time!!!!
DD: age 13
Washes pots & feeds cats when she comes home from school
Hoovers, dusts and generally keeps her room tidy
Is it me or is this an unfair split between myself and OH, I am quite happy with DD contribution.
The reason I got a cleaner in the 1st place was because I was doing all the jobs!!!
Would be most interested to learn how other people split these chores
Thanks in advance
xx

My OH does all the DIY (I'm not allowed) all the cleaning, dusting, hoovering and most of the washing (ie everything as long as it's 40 degrees!).
I do the cooking, food shopping, stacking dishwasher etc, washing up, dusting our bedroom, changing bed clothes and washing bedding and any other washing.
This morning OH mopped the bathroom and kitchen floors just before we left for work (we both work full time).
We each do our own ironing. He is very particular (fussy) about cleaning and things and it was his flat before I came along.
I know I have the jobs I prefer and that I have a good unworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Myself and my husband both work full time.
I do all the cleaning, hoovering, gardening, washing and ironing.
My husband does the food shopping and DIY (eventually)!!
We share the cooking and washing up on alternate nights, so if I cook he washes up and vice versa!!Our dream has come true...0 -
my partner works full time, im at college part time, so i do everything, including the DIY! i get a bit fed up cos at least his working days over at 5 oclock. hes quite sweet though and offers to help, but it would be nice if he didnt need me to tell him what to do lol.0

I would show him the list that you've shown us, doesn't look good written down at all.Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early0

Your quite right Bun it does look bad written down but I know he'll have some kind of smart a***d answer! It really does get me down that's why we got a cleaner in the 1st place although she was always referred to as MY cleaner not ours!

If both partners work full time, chores are split 50/50 with children doing their share of the chores.
Hubby works shifts. Whoever is home at suppertime will cook. He will do washing, ironing etc. Weekends if he is working, I will clean etc.
Children will do their own rooms, pack dishwasher, vacuum, clean bathroom, whatever chores need doing at the time.
If we didn't, we would fall apart.0 -
DH does all the hoovering, (most of )the dusting, tidying, mowing the lawn, cleaning the kitchen and all of the ironing
I do all the laundry, cooking and looking after DS all day - DH does a lot with him when he gets home from work.
We do the grocery shopping together, and DH buys bread and milk on his way home from work. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
my oh is blind to household chores. He doesn't seem to see what's needing done. If I ask him, he'll do it, but only if I ask and never off his own back.
He works full time, I work part time, we have three kids under six. Sometimes it just easier to do it yourself....he did make a nice job of tiling our bathroom last week...0 -
OH cleans the bathroom and changes the bed, he sometimes cooks when he's in the mood and half heartedly washes the dishes. he does some diy when i ask.
i do everything else. i am home most of the time with the baby and he works full time so i feel this is fair and he will do anything else that i ask so he's quite good that way.0 -
we do shopping online...i help with all a bit..used to do the ironing...glYou have the right to remain silent.Anything you do say will be misquoted and then used against you
Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.
