Can we merge all threads about diesel and filter problems

All of them? Why?
How many years of useless posts do you want to trawl through to find one or 2 useful ones.
All fuel meets the minimum spec for diesel. Any additional additives are a bonus.
Any garage that tells you the supermarket fuel is substandard is full of crap.
Sue them.
Unless they specify that you must use a higher spec fuel then any fuel is good enough.
Supermarket fuel stations are heaving everyday. Why are they surrounding roads not littered with broken down vehicles?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Because they get slapped with parking tickets and then towed away?forgotmyname wrote: »Supermarket fuel stations are heaving everyday. Why are they surrounding roads not littered with broken down vehicles?

Nowhere have i said supermarkets are to blame but it is a massive problem which needs adressing....someone is to blame and it isnt the motorist but it is the motorist who is having to pay for new filters.
thats why I think it should be merged and kept on the first page0 -
What problem is this?
I have been driving diesel cars for at least the last 20 years and have never had the slightest hint of a problem with diesel filters.
Well, once the engine of my mate's yacht stopped because of water in the diesel filter. But never in any car that I have owned.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

typical of the numpties.
I thought as this is a consumer site, anyone with problems may search for a solution and find one merged thread instead of many seperate threads0 -
I don't think merging all the DPF threads would have any benefit it all simply because it varies so much how and when manufacturers implemented DPF technology. Those having DPF issues or concerned about the DPF will probably get the best advice by heading over to a manufacturer specific forum, lumping all manner of DPF threads together here would be pointless as it would just end up a confusing mess.

I thought the fuel filter and the particle filter were different things, and the threads I was looking to have merged are all about fuel filters.0
