Can you explain Caveat emptor please
It's Latin for Buyer beware and basically it means that a buyer is expected to examine, test and make sure that goods bought privately are suitable for their needs.PRIVATE SALES
When you buy goods from a private individual, you don't have the same rights as when buying from a trader. The legal principle of caveat emptor, or 'buyer beware', operates. You have no right to expect that goods are of satisfactory quality or fit for their purpose but there is a requirement that they should be as described. You should check goods thoroughly before you buy them.

As you've been asked before, were the threats over Facebook?0

The advert was a stock photo but described accurately, but she inspected the actual laptop before buying she is now saying its not the same laptop as in photo. I cant prove it was holding charge this was 10 days ago now, she has stated she wants money before Mondy as they going in caravan, another reason shes just wanting money I think, its the threats that are worrying us.
She's got no money for her holiday and thought she'd pick on you to solve the problem
I wonder if there is a way to show how long someone has been logged on for, and whether it was via battery or charger? Might be worth asking on the Techies page, see if they know?0 -
Hi yes they were made in private messages0

Then tell her the laptop was as described and since she was given the opportunity to inspect it you won't be refunding her. Then tell her if she threatens you again you will get the police involved yourself.0

Hi Arcon, I explained that I would contact the police and the answer I got was please do Il be there in 10 mins to show them its not same laptop as in the picture. If she comes and we dont open the door shes not going to get in, and if she does we have a Rottweiler to greet her. Im afraid looking at her fake and real profiles on Facebook she and her family are rather used to Police involvement.0

I'm sure that the tin of baked beans I received in my Tescos delivery last week wasn't the same one in the photo on their website.
As others have said - private sale, buyer beware. As long as you have accurately described it then she has no recourse.
I'm sure that she bought it to sell on at a profit and has failed to do so and now needs more money for her fags and booze and has decided to try and get it from you.
If she does (or any of her family) turn up at your house, ring the police and tell them that there are individuals on your property who are threatening you and refusing to leave.0 -

They arent even aware we have a dog and hes as soft as a brush but he wont stand by and see us beaten up in the property, he wont be going to the door as neither will we. As I stated they are well known for there illegal trappings in the area. so I think just knocking and walking away wont be an option.0

Did she try to sell it for a profit? Pretty obvious that she is just regretting a purchase really.
I'd send a final, short message making it clear that you will not be refunding or responding to any further messages and block her. I hope you're keeping copies of the threats as well! A copy of the ad where she says it is working might also be useful.0
