paypal sides with seller and the tracking number doesnt track

hi there i bought a apple tv from a seller in italy. the seller provided me with an italian tracking number and he says it takes 10 days for tracking. one month later no apple tv, he kept asking me to wait, i raise a claim with paypal and he kept telling me to wait and i thought it was a bit dodgy so i escalated it to a claim. its been a week or so and just had a email from paypal to say that 'the seller has provided proof of postage indicating that the item was posted to you, because the seller was able to provide proof of postage we cannot reverse this transaction or issue a refund, we encourage you to work with your seller'

ive checked the tracking number on italia post service and google translated it and shows a postage date from milan, no delivery date or signature...

what do i do now i can only appeal and say its a item not as described, but i havent got the item.

Have you advised Paypal that the tracking number does not track or show proof of delivery?

  • You know the tracking number should work on the Royal Mail site, yes?

Call PayPal and explain to them what you have told us. They should reverse their decision.

PayPal are useless and ignorant; chances are they haven't even checked the tracking number, just accepted it from the seller. Badger them constantly until they revise their decision.

As far as I am aware as a exerienced seller & buyer, its the sellers responsibility under the DSR rules (dont know if applies if its form another country). When I have sold something and its gone missing I have always repaid the buyer and issued a claim with who was ment to deliver it.

As already mentioned above, PHONE paypal and say that the seller has provided a tracking number that does not work!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • It DOES work though!

So the seller has posted it!
Dunno who it falls to progress the claim on the carrier company though :|
