Hi

I am wondering if this is a safe site to use, please? I have seen a phone with a "free" tablet which I would like to order, I just wonder if this company is reputable?

Thanks in advance

A year ago, I ordered a phone contract and netbook for them. I had no issues at all.

I then recommended them to OH. He ordered a phone with a free games console. Nothing arrived, so he called and was told the order hadn't been processed as they 'didn't have that colour games console in stock'. He pointed out that he'd never specified a colour, so they said they'd send everything out. When they still didn't, he called again and was told that that the console was now only available in the second colour on a different deal and that he'd have to change the contract for another more expensive one. He agreed because he had wondered about getting the more expensive one, with the larger data allowance, anyway. Eventually a phone arrived, but no games console. He emailed and asked 'Can you also tell me when I'll be receiving the games console?' and got a reply that simply said 'You won't. We have no record of a games console on order'. He called again, and was told the same thing, so asked them to review the order. Eventually someone said that they were out of stock. He ended up with a large phone bill through regularly calling to chase up his order as they never called back. After a month or so, he spoke to a high-up manager who listened to all recorded calls and got a console sent out, but it's definitely a hit and miss experience.

    How do you define 'reputable'?

They are unlikely to go under with the money that they owe you, but that's it.

They are shambolic and unreachable even via 10p/min phone number. They produce tangled and contradicting T&C and e-mails. Pretty often a Letter Before Action is the only language they understand. They used to reserve up to 21 days to issue a cheque and to use a laughable excuse for this. Apparently their banking team was in Portugal and sent cheques from there. LOL.

I know, it's possibly simpler for 'gifts' than for cashback, but although I don't exclude a possibility of dealing with them again, I would never call them 'reputable'.

I have had many family cash back deals on this site and three at the moment. They have rules about when to claim but I have not missed a collection yet.
Worst thing is the premium phone number that you have to use to talk with them but this is common these days.

They're part of carphone warehouse. I'm not sure whether that makes them reputable or not these days.

    Hi everyone

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it. I was just worried as the contracts are cheaper than some that I have seen, and I was just worried it might have been a scam.

I have placed an order, have not had any confirmation of the order or date of delivery, so not sure what is happening :?

You should have got an immediate confirmation of the order sent to the email address you entered when ordering. After that you often don't hear until late evening or early the next day that it's been despatched. You can log onto your account on their site provided you kept a note of the order number - a bit late now, but you should ALWAYS print off the order and terms and conditions at the point of sale.

With this dealer, if all is well the phone will arrive tomorrow.

Thanks Mobilejunkie. I have had no email of confirmation at all from them, checked my spam folder etc. I have asked the phone to be delivered to my work place, and it said that this may hold things up. So maybe once they check this information out, I will hear something? I do not remember actually having anything to print off, so I am now wondering if my details saved, my internet was playing up so am totally clueless now.

Unfortunately, without an order number (which would have been in the email and given at the point of sale) you can't log on to your account on the site - where the information you need would be. It may also prevent you from sending a message via their site to get a response - and phoning is only to be used as a last resort (but may be the best course in your situation, where written evidence of what they say is less important than knowing if the order has been processed).

Sending to a different address is (despite what it says wehen you order) usually a no-no and that may have caused a problem. It may be that for some reason the order didn't go through; when it does a confirmation with your order number appears - and that (along with everything else, including details of the deal you signed up for) can and always should be printed out. You would not then be in this situation (along with other potential situations).

    Mobilejunkie, thank you.

I had to resort to telephoning Mobiles.co.uk, the lack of email confirmation was not their fault, it was mine as (derrr!) I had put the wrong email address. Only had the email address 10+ years!

Anyhow, I thought I would keep this thread updated as I received my phone yesterday but not the free gift, this being currently out of stock but I have been assured that mine should be sent out when the tablets come in again at the end of the month.

Phonecall probably cost an arm and a leg, but customer service rep, was a extremely helpful even though by the time I got through, he should have been going home, he was very patient with my ramblings and did not try and rush me off the phone.

Will update as and when I hear back from them.
