Credit Card Fraud involving Blizzard Entertainment

I am blown away. I found this forum like most people that got their CC number stolen. My wife bought scrubs from Jasco and on the same day a bunch of charges showed up on her account. Blizzard, NC Soft, and other. Cancalled that card immediately. Damn Jasco. I bought online many things in the last 6-8 years and never had a problem. My wife will stop buying stuff online from unknown companies. :mad:0

Sorry to go off topic, but would someone like to translate 'scrubs' into British English for me please? It's really bugging me......0

I got hit by Blizzard Entertainment credit fraud too. I have filed a complaint with FBI and all the online places where they accept CC fraud complaints.
In the meanwhile it looks like they got all the card information from one particular place. If we can recollect any shabby place where we used/visited the credit card recently, that might give us a clue as to from where this is getting leaked:
Here is my recent list (Places/business etc..)
1. Korean Airlines (US)
2. Vegas
3. L.A
4. HP purchase online (US)
5. Google Pay
5. Bellevue, WA
6. Redmond, WA
7. KodakGallery Online

if any of these ring a bell to any of you victims, please post back. If not, please give other "hints" like this to see whether there is a common pattern.

I had 3 bogus transactions from Blizzard on April 24, which I missed. Then on 21 June the thief struck again, this time he ordered a replacement Mercedes soft top from TOPSONLINE.COM in CA. For around 341 Pounds UK.
I have never dealt with either Blizzard or Topsonline, before this.
The guy at topsonline gave me the details of the order. It was delivered to an address in Edgeware, England. I gave the full info. over to my card fraud department.
I don't know how the card people will deal with this, but they promised to keep me informed.
I do not think either Blizzard or Topsonline are guilty of anything here. (Maybe the guy at Topsonline is in the wrong for dispatching the item to an address that is not registered on the card).
The guy in Edgeware? Maybe he thought he'd bought it legit. from a deal on Ebay. Maybe it's an empty house, or a forwarding agency. He could be the one who stole the card details, or could have bought a batch of card numbers off another crook. No doubt he'll be a lying S.O.B. who'll have some excuse to get out of it.

 I got hit by them too ! 4 transactions totally over $100. I'm off to the bank tomorrow with copies of this thread.
Wanted to add, I have never bought from Jasco. And to answer someone on pg 4, I am using Firefox browser too. Could this be a thread ?0 -
Blizzard doesn't seem to be doing enough. I send them a serious email asking them of the steps they have taken to identify the thief. It's very incovenient to cancel the current card and get a new one. meanwhile, all of you can file a complaint for the internet fraud here:

Small scale fraud is simply out of control worldwide.
In the last few weeks we have had an insight into police/industry attitudes, quite frankly if its less than 500 GBP (1000 dollars) it does not really appear on the radar.
If you have given your details to a web/phone site or allowed you card out of your sight, some little minimum wage scumbag could get (say) 50 cents per card for the details. One of my Visa cards has insisted that I create a strong password for my on-line transactions and this I have done - but it is just yet another bit of security I will have to remember and get confused over.
The latest BBC program for Today (Monday) is available at this web address. It should be available for listening for a week and then become a transcript. In the listen-again program credit card fraud is the first item a minute or so from the start.

Harry.
Afterthought: I know a taxi driver who will cheerfully radio in to base with card details and then write them down on his job sheet - obviously not very secure if they have a ready market value in the scumbag world of petty criminals.0 -
Well they are still at it. Have a Capital One Card and have three charges to Blizzard and two charges to World of Warcraft. When my credit card company first called I was first annoyed that they would call since I hadn't made any big charges but when they said there were some suspicious charges and told me what they were I knew right away it was credit card fraud. They cancelled my credit card and is issuing me a new one and are reversing the charges.0

Dzug, scrubs are the uniforms that nurses/doctors wear.
I talked to my other bank (the one which I did not get the charges at) and they said they attempted to call Blizzard and were given the run around. They said almost every merchant out there can do a search by the credit card number and the fact that Blizzard will not do that is real shady.
Also she said they are working on filing a petition with Visa to have Blizzard pulled as a merchant seeing as they are not doing enough to fix this. I REAALLY hope this goes through because if they can't take Visa, they will be screwed!!!!0 -
Blizzard & WOW feature today in the activities of a Chinese Gold Farm.
Two interesting facts:
Blizzard try to ban "gold farmers"; but how do they recognise them, could it be from the credit card they use? Thus forcing the farmer to require a constant supply of new credit card numbers ?
The Chinese farmer explained that he can make 15 dollars a day - worthwhile in China but a joke in the West. However, what does it cost to play the game for a day? It looks as though the fraudster can double his income by paying with YOUR credit card.
The latest BBC program for Today (Thursday) is available at this web address. It should be available for listening for a week and then become a transcript. In the listen-again program the "Gold Farming" is about a quarter of an hour from the start. If you browse the program for Thursday (half way down on RHS) you should be offered the program, broken down into individual items.
