    Hi there,

I used to be with SMS AC a few years back but they were too CRAFTY in applying charges. What they did was 1. They charged the person you sent TEXTS to and :
    2. Sent you a delivery notification and CHARGED you for it as well. There was no option to stop this notification ALERT!! I could not register with a phony phone as A verification Code was Needed to verify your account. So I cancelled my account with them.

Maybe they have chaged thier WAYS. If they have, then I can register another account with them. Can you confirm that they really do not charge the sender of the TEXT messages and that it is REALLY FREE INDEED!!

    Thanks.

To be honest, I think that you never really got the best out of the site.

I received five free SMS per day from sms.ac for years, until I went over that limit and they tried to recoup the cost from a telephone that no longer existed.
As for people being charged for receiving SMS... It could be that in some countries people pay for receiving SMS. No one whom I know has been charged by sms.ac

I liken the sms.ac website to the low cost airlines. If you don't do your 'due diligence', you'll end up paying more than was necessary.

Look at the Ryanair website, it offers insurance by default and if you choose not to have checked luggage, it defaults to online check in/priority boarding at a cost of £4 to yourself. Cheeky? Definitely. Of course, you can remove it, but it's easy to get caught out.
Doesn't stop millions of people flying with Ryanair.

So, take your time with the site and get your three free messages per day with no catch.

Thanks for reminding me. I should sign up a couple of my dormant SIM cards. That will give me nine per day. Should keep International communication ticking over. :)

    Received this from them last November;

By popular demand, no-charge text messaging (SMS) is back*!
Text your friends anywhere in the world from the Web - at no charge to you*.

*3 messages per day, up to 20 per month, web to phone only. Subject to change
without notice. Limit 1 account per mobile phone.

BexTech ,All my text go through ok, I send to India,Finland and Uk.they all go through for me, and have for years now .
I dont think the "free " text go through, but by going "vip " mine always go through.
  • Dear Imoh,

The whole point is about FREE TEXT if you have to pay for it by going VIP, then the whole purpose is defeated. If it is about paying for TEXT Messaging, I do no think any one will have problems finding one.

    Thanks for your input anyway.

Just signed up for another account. Apparently, I'm getting five free text messages per day with the new account.
I've sent a couple of International msgs thus far. Took a couple of seconds to arrive at their destination.

Why not register with bt.com for online bills, services etc, then use their beta sms service at https://www2.bt.com/smsbeta/?com.bea.event.type=linkclick&oLName=link.searchresults&oLDesc=KB_818? You get fifty free sms per month, and the message appears to the recipient to come from your own mobile number.
