Does anyone know how the half leg of lamb compare on PP please?:D
They are on offer at £4 a kilo which is great value and and cheaper than whole chicken! so I'm gonna stock up on a few!;)
another mse question for you also, are half legs better value than whole legs? ie is there more meat to bone on a half leg for example? I'm guessing because the whole leg has more bone the half is better value!! what do you think? any butchers or MSE'rs done any research in this!!
Cheers!:)
You may already have had this answered (or even purchased) but I bought one last week and it compared to A badly
T £4 v's A £7I'd like to teach the World to sing in perfect Harmony:j

Well. Got the 2 cars running. Both are now 16 years old! One (Volvo) is the equivalent of SORN'd and has a very dodgy starter motor, sometimes I really can't seem to get it to start but so far have just about managed. Keeping it in case the other one goes bump! Trouble is the garage is small, Volvo only fits in the bit nearest the garage door, the other one fits in to the left, hemmed in so to speak. The other one, a BMW, is on the road but has really started to play up and unfortunately bits cost quite a bit. Anyway - my mate who knows about cars has told me to buy 3 bits for the BMW associated with air intake and we'll see if that makes a difference, my other mate here in a local garage is changing them round at 9am tomorrow, won't cost much for the labour but the bits cost £90.
Wish me luck0 -
David,I am also waiting for a Dexter fix, what is it about that dog he is so gorgeous :AMorning David. If you do by chance fill up the thread before I get home from work, will you please make sure you have a nice piccie of Dexter and Bailey when you start the next thread
;) Get those hands out of your pockets/gloves on, and take Dex and your camera down to the woods and see what he can come up with for the Easter hols please

This is the start of a new list about where the TCB/Quidco/Shopitize items are best going (NI - sorry, comps. vs M and W not available to you). I'll adding to this list throughout this afternoon. As ever it's selective use of these offers that is the key - some of them, for example, Marmite Cashews (90g) - cheapest on them at the mo. appears to be £1.59 at T/W, therefore also could be S (£1.79) vs T, but the cashback from TCB is only 20p, making them £1.39, however the cheapest price on these cashews during the year has been £1.00 - so best waiting till they are back on offer for £1.00, than having 20p off £1.59 and paying more.
Marmite Cashew Nuts 90g 1.79 S vs 1.59 T, 20p off - therefore not worth it (lowest price has been £1)
Little Dish fresh ready meals (various) - £1 off, but some are exclusive to T, the others T & W/T, W & O, they're £2.75 and any 2 for £4.00 in T (& W where avail.) but that's £1.75 for 1. You can reduce, per pack, by buying 2, but that still averages out at £1.50 each and we can do far better than that! (E.g. coupons off WW meals that are already £1.50, or £1.35 when they were Avs M (now expired).) And, as their name suggests, the Little Dishes are quite small - only 200g.
Happy Egg Co. Eggs (6) - A is cheaper on the medium of these, but that's still £1.50-£0.30 Quidco = £1.20. Other 6-pk eggs are available for £1, or even less.
Pepsi 2L is A vs W in 2s (BOGOF offer at W so mix 2 diff. comparable ones).
Coca Cola 24 pack - is not stocked by A. Cheapest of the major supermarkets is M, at £9.49 (Tvs M?) but, even with £1.25 off, it's still more expensive than the low of £8 (showing on MSM for both T & W around Christmas last year).
Coca Cola 2L is Avs M in 2s or vs W in 2s. BOGOF at both, but can't do Quidco as need to buy three - and it appears you can't buy six (3x 2) without getting at least two the same variety and thus returning N/A on the APG when buying the number - of the same version - for the BOGOF, as BOGOFs on APG now only recognised when buying one each of two different comparable versions.
Coca Cola 500ml - 25p off when buying 2. Svs A 2 for £1.50 (but still £1.25 for 1L of cola!)
Dr Pepper 500ml - 25p off for 2. Svs... T this time! (T 2 for £1.50, N/A A) (again still £1.25 for 1L)
Fanta 150ml - Avs T and 25p cashback - but no good given the glitch involving the 2L Fantas elsewhere.
Fanta Twist 500ml - NA in A. No good as glitch on 2Ls.
Lilt 500ml - this time it's T!! vs S!! (2 for £1.50 in S, N/A at A) - no good as glitch on 2Ls.
FWIW, 2x Schweppes 2L is any 2 for £2 in M (same as T) and £1 each in S, so buy 2 in Avs M or T or S. But pointless given glitch on other 2L pops.
2x Tropicana 1L. £3.00 - 60p = £2.40 (T or S vs A) but still worse than £1 each (their lowest price).
Perrier - Avs W 96p (for 25p TCB)
Ribena 500ml is T or S vs A (2 for £1.50) - 30p shopitize but A vs W on 2 x 10pk is cheaper, I think so even after 30p taken off.
Robinsons Fruit & Barley Orange 1L. The orange fruit & barley apparently not stocked in A - therefore Tvs M £1.
Hotel Chocolate Easter thing - I can't find this anywhere.
McVities Penguin Originals (9s) are Avs T's 87p. Seems to be quite good.
Oddities (5) - Avs S or W but probably not that good.
Special K Red Berries - no-one on offer at the moment.
Wrigleys 60 - would be Avs T or S.
McVities 12 Jaffa Cakes - cheapest in A at 50p (shopitize 40p) - or T or Svs A.
Jacobs Crackers 300g - A vs W in 2s (2 for £1.80 and shopitize, however it's still more expensive even with Shopitize, than Avs M on 300g own brand).
Sunbites - Avs S in 2s (S 2 for £2), check MSM as to which S stock.
Sensations, of which you have to buy 2 for 40p TCB, are Avs S, or, nicely, Avs T in 2s where T's is a multibuy offer of that exact number!
New York Bakery Bagels - 20p on TCB expires today - appear to be best in O (can't remember if O are included within TCB as other matters to concentrate on at the moment) or some in W, 2 for £2.00. Unfortunately the ones avail. in W do not appear to be avail. in A. Personal preference - I wouldn't buy New York anyway - I'd normally buy own brands or whoopsies if I need any of these items. TCB on a whoopsie??
Hot Cross Buns (6) TCB 10p, A 50p (non-APG shop) or Tvs A, but showing OOS for A logged out for me.
Sharwoods 2 Plain Naans - 25p TCB until 2/4 - doesn't look too good - wait till they are £1 for one 2pk
Stork 1kg 50p TCB expiring today - Avs S or T £2.00 (also £2 for M but playing safe) - makes them £1.30 for 1kg of margarine, better than pricematch of T or S to A's £1.50 on ICBINB 1kg.
Bird's Eye Fresh Field Garden Peas 800g - TCB 35p. This is Avs M (£1.99 A £2.00 M) but I think it's so-so. With the 35p off it makes it about £1.79 - 35p = £1.44. This is less than the lowest price of £1.50, but not less than Avs a rival when a rival was £1.50 (expired). It's possibly the case that, of Bird's Eye peas, the BE Fresh Fields Petit Pois 545g are better at the mo. - A £2.00 vs T or S at 99p.

I am abandoning the updating of the M list for now, as it seems a daunting task right at this moment in time - but, you know me, I'll be back to it later tonight and I always like to complete things fully. I've just got to go and prepare my own shopping before I run out of time! Avs M as it now stands should be fairly usable.0 -
How about I stop catching upleave my coffee, go and get changed and take these 2 dogs to the muddy woods and if my frostbitten fingers survive that. In between trying to clean the mud off everything I post a pic if I manage to before they are up the eyes in it :rotfl:
