I see that people are having increasing difficulty with Tesco not operating its own policy properly.

It happened to me at Tesco Pendleton recently where Customer Service said that DTD did not apply where the SEL was out of date "because customers were switching labels"

The customer behind me, who was also overcharged on an out of date SEL, has taken my details as a witness as he is considering legal action against Tesco for slander.

It may be that Tesco price integrity teams are measured on the levels of refunds given on pricing errors, with bonuses adjusted accordingly. If so, there is a natural incentive to avoid applying the Company Policy regarding DTD.

It needs a whistle blower inside Tesco!
TBH even I wouldnt go THAT far lol. Things like threats of court action or in worst case scenario actual court action will lead to DTD going the same way as R+R (Retain and refund) they will simply withdraw the thing altogether and blame a "hardcore" minority have made it impossible for them to continue to operate the system and it was not being used in the manner in which it was intended. Yes they will get a bit of a neg rep for a week or so but would soon bounce back and we would all be poorer IMHO.
All the above is coming from someone who loves to see big corps taking down a peg or two...tread carefully. As flo said treat it as a battle in a war...as long as you win most battles you win the war.

I got the claim that it was the Irish Topside Beef on offer, not the British Topside - not that the SEL made any differentiation and the only difference on the packaging was British or Irish! In the earlier store on U/S Wiltshire Gammon same as you I got the claim that it was only the flashed packs that were on offer and someone must have put it in the wrong place (identical packaging apart from the half price flash/lower price per kg). I haven't contacted CS yet as I am still deliberating which one deservered retraining (both were actually very pleasant so not keen on getting either into trouble) and also as I have had a fair few joints of meat since you all introduced me to it I don't really want to put myself on the radar (that said, I didn't use my clubcard on the Topside purchase, so may drop them a friendly email ...).

When I phoned customer services I asked them about their policy on overcharges. I told them my experience with the beef and although they backed up the store by saying that it was probably put there by a customer and they can't be held responsible for stuff being moved around the store, they did say "on this occasion, as a gesture of goodwill, we will send you a £10 gift card" So it is worth a call......every little helps as they say ;)

Stop you'll really have me crying now - those were the days.:(

You'll have me crying too but only because i didnt know about any of this when it was on. The ambrosia-centric sada glitch was my most successful experience but even that seems nothing compared to previous
