I think we're now down to the companies who can't be bothered doing it properly, so I just report them when I come across them.0

Some interesting posts. Now I know why facebook has made me verify my account by sending a text message wih a code. Their message says to read their terms conditions and rules, or somthing like that. Unfortunately, facebook didn't see fit to give any indication as to what I had done to break their rules. Also, a while back I couldn't like, post or share for several days. Now I am wondering if facebook had imposed a temporary ban without me realising.0

FB rules (remember the company that runs it breaks the rules not the person entering)You must not condition registration or entry upon the user taking any action using any Facebook features or functionality other than liking a Page, checking in to a Place, or connecting to your app. For example, you must not condition registration or entry upon the user liking a Wall post, or commenting or uploading a photo on a Wall0 -
Bumping this as there have been a lot of like and share competitions posted this weekend on here.
Where are we with this now?
I must admit I have posted two like and share both from my hairdressers because I knew they would give the prize and because they were close to the target number of likes.
Separately there are also companies using apps but saying they will give the prize once they reach a large number of likes.
Should these comps be posted but with a warning?Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.

Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change0 -
Personally I do like to know if there are any other non obvious conditions, like having to reach a large number of likes for the prize to be awarded.
Or you need to like and share and leave a comment- especially if it looks like the comment is going to be used as the method of picking the winner...0 -
Where are we with this now?
I don't think there was a definitive answer. For a while it seemed regulars stopped posting L&S comps and the majority that are posted now are done by new, or relatively new, users. I don't think they should be banned or anything like that, but it is always helpful if people put (L&S) in the title of the thread. Then they are easy to skip past.0
