Is it worth me appealing to CAA?

I was lied to by the airline in this respect as i purchased the ticket to Kolkata with a connection in Dubai both flights by them. As i was lied to about this do you think the "Air Traffic Control retsrictions" as the reason is true or not?

Basically due to the delay i arrived at my destination 12 hours later and missing part of a funeral, the purpose of my trip.

Can anyone advise as to weather it is worth me appealing to the CAA as the "Air Traffic Control retsrictions" is a valid reason as far as i am aware for no compensation.

If the delay was only an hour, how did you miss your connection, which should have been a great deal longer, usually 2 -3 hours in Dubai? Are you suggesting the delay was a lot more?

What airline? What departure airport? What date?

MCT at Dubai is 75 minutes so an incoming delay of 1 hour could easily cause a disconnect.
