  • Hi i bought tickets with ticketmaster. I received these this morning with a voucher for virgin wines. This is a £40 winebank voucher which saves you £40 or if you buy a £100 case of wine then this entitles you to £60 off .

    Anyone can have this as i dont like wine and i dont know if it is much use. First person who emails me who is interested can have the code and password. I dont think it is a voucher that can be used more than once.

    My wine arrived the other day. Had to pay the delivery charge but still a great buy and great for xmas pressies and xmas drinking! :D

    Just off to cancel my wine bank membership now. :o

    Unfortunately I got this:

    Thank you for contacting Virgin Wines.
    I would really appreciate your feedback on why you wish to cancel as I can see you have only just joined by using a £40 voucher but you are yet to give the WineBank a try. We were offering customers a £40 voucher to try our WineBank and if customer find the WineBank does not suit them then they can cancel but at this stage you are yet to give it a try.
    Please let me know if there is anything further I can assist with, as I will be delighted to help.

  • Hi boo-boo, can you keep us posted about how the cancellation of your winebank membership is going, because I'm considering using my voucher but don't want to get sucked into direct debit hell!!
    Good luck with it, hope you manage to get it sorted. I'm sure it's just a scare tactic, if it says in t+cs that you can cancel at any time then surely they can't force you to stay with it?
  • I ordered my wine on 7/11/07, it arrived on 10/11/07 & I sent an email straight away to help@virginwines.com
    & again on 15/11/07 but to customerservice@virginwines.com to cancel the subscription.

    On both occasions, I received this

    Hi,

    Thank you for your email.

    On this occasion we have been unable to respond to your email with 24 hours, please be assured we will contact you back as soon as we possible can.

    I do apologise for the delay and if its anything urgent then please contact us on the telephone number below.

    Please let me know if there is anything further I can assist with, as I will be delighted to help.

    If you need to get in touch please reply to this email or, if you prefer, you could call us when it suits you on 0870 164 9593, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.30pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm and closed Sundays.

    I sent an email to [EMAIL="help@virginwines.com"]help@virginwines.com[/EMAIL] last week. I got the same reply as you initially then a couple of days later I received another email from them confirming my winebank membership had been cancelled:)

    Perhaps they are clamping down if they have had a lot of similar requests in the last week. If you remove the credit card details stored in your account then I don't see how they would be able to take any further payments.
