£40 Off Virgin Wines - Codes Here

Options
Yesterday's Times had an offer, where you get a £40 Virgin Wines voucher (to spend by 28th June) if you sign up to the WineBank, meaning for £60 (3 months at £20 that you pay in), you get the £20 they top the WineBank up with plus £40 voucher, so £120 for £60 of your own money.

It gets better. I followed the link from The Times (www.virginwines.com/40times), and it asked me to put in the voucher details for the £40 (voucher code and password was given in the Times, code is TIMES, password is SRU083XH). I couldn't see how you sign up to the WineBank though, so I went back to the homepage and on the right hand side is an offer - sign up to WineBank and get £20 credited now, then pay in your £60 over 3 months, and then get the usual £20 credited to your account.

So I have now signed up to WineBank, and for just £60 of my own money, I will end up with £140 to spend on wine which I think is pretty good icon10.gif

Hope all that makes sense, it's hard to explain properly! Don't forget 10% cashback if you go via Egg (although not sure that will apply to the voucher portion of your spend?)

Worked for me, although it took a bit of thinking about! I already have an account with them, so it wouldn't let me do it, so my OH signed up;)

It's probably worth while doing it in Internet Explorer rather than any other browser - Virgin's website sometimes gets upset when I use Firefox.

Use the Times link above and you will be asked to put in the code and password, and then (if I remember the order correctly!) ask for your name and e-mail address. Then click on the Home button (or the Virgin Wines logo top left) to go to the home page. I'm not sure if I was on the ball or not, but the first time I tried, I couldn't see the bit about the extra £20, however, I clicked "Home" again and it came up as one of the three options in the middle of the page.

Joined that as well and have checked my account, and now have £60 credit - and they haven't even asked for my credit card details! I'm assuming I can't just go ahead and spend the credit and leave?!

Oh, and although you can't get egg cashback, it looks like greasypalm works.

Actually - turns out it didn't work for me after all. It showed in my account as having the £40 Times code and the extra £20 Winebank code, but when I tried to buy the "suggested" case, it said that I had tried to use a code that wasn't valid for winebank purchases and removed the £40 credit from my account. So I could still have used the £20, but once you've added on the £6 delivery, and the fact that you had to buy a case costing nearly £80 to be able to use the code, it wasn't worth it.

Just received an email from Virgin Wines:

"I would like to invite you to try our WineBank.

    What's in it for you?
A £40 introductory voucher for starters
“WineInterest” at 33% per quarter - Tax Free
    No obligation whatsoever

    How the WineBank works
Just like a normal bank, but lots more fun!

    • A £40 voucher. Use by 02 March 2007

You can use your £40 voucher to buy whatever you like from Virgin Wines, provided that you spend at least £39.99 on wine (ie you need to put wines to the value of £79.99 into your basket).

    • WineInterest at 33% per quarter – tax free

A £40 voucher – and at least 25% off everything forever.

I believe that our best customers should get the very best deal from Virgin Wines. Automatically. On whatever you want to buy. And whenever you want to buy it.

So we came up with a scheme that does just that. It gives you at least 25% off all of our wines, all year.

Sounds good? Give it a try. "

  • Just had a statement from my creditcard company along with a letter detailing "a great introductory offer from Virgin Wines - they're offering a massive £40 off your first order when you sign up to use their service before 31st May 2007.* ..."

So, to claim your voucher you have to go to www.virginwines.com/partner40wb and enter the code PAYPAL and the password of WINEBANK.

*The smallprint says the voucher is for first time customers only and must be used to buy a case of wine containing either 12 or 13 75cl bottles of wine with a minimum spend after applying your voucher of £39.99 plus £5.99 p&p. Offer ends 31/05/07.

    Good luck!
