I just ordered a mixed case using a voucher I got from Lovefilm. Basically, when you order (which has to be over £79.99) they subscribe you to the Virgin Winebank. This means they take £20 a month off your card and put it in their 'bank'.

However, if you place your order and then ring the customer services number, you can cancel your winebank membership immediately. I've just done it.

It took a little effort - first he wanted to cancel the wine order completely, and I said no. Then he said they recommend waiting to taste the wine before cancelling, and I said that wasn't what the terms and conditions stated.

He tried a bit more, and I asked him where in the terms and conditions it said I wasn't allowed to cancel. Result - winebank membership cancelled, and an eighty-quid case of wine on its way for forty quid. Yay!

P.S. If anyone wants recommending as a friend, apparently we both get a voucher for £20. Read the terms and conditions, though, particularly section 12 about the winebank. You might have to ring someone up to cancel it.

If you are already a Winebank member then the voucher is useless because the voucher is for joining winebank and Virgin won't let you have the discount if you are already a member. Having said that you are quite correct you can join and then cancel after you've placed your order.

I had a similar code from Egg card. But be careful, check the website from the main page before looking at the /bookdep pages and choose your wine from there. If you go in via the dedicated pages a lot of good offers seem to disappear from the site. I tried to get round it but my purchase was blocked at the checkout. You cannot get their best website offers as well as the £20 discount.

I've got this code for £20 off towards a case of wine. Full terms and conditions are not on the leaflet but are available at www.virginwines.com. To claim go to www.virginwines.com/bookdep enter this voucher code BOOKD20 and password: CHAMPAGNE or you can call them on 08701649593. It says must be used within 30 days of receipt. Received today, but how would they know that.
  • Here's one for all wine-lovers - at the Web User site there's an online voucher worth £40 for Virgin Wines. It's at the bottom of some pages, such as here:
    http://www.webuser.co.uk/products/BullGuard_Backup_80_review_4541.html

Or on this page, listing online Olympics games: http://www.webuser.co.uk/specials/265028.html

If you don't see the offer, you might need to refresh the page...

    Enjoy...glug!
