I like Taylor's Rich Italian - my daughter says it's what she's always been looking for but hasn't found yet.

Lidl Bellarom Gold. I've tried all kinds and always end up going back to this. It's great value, too, about £4 for a 500g pack.

Another vote for LIDL here. And it's actually £3.49 for a 500g pack.

Thanks for this and to those who agreed! I'm going to start here and work my way round everyone's recommendations. Maybe venturing to some proper coffee shops & online for treats. Yey!

    Lavazza for us :)

I've tried all sorts, from Lidl and Aldi, Taylor's etc etc. Always go back to Lavazza. I find other ones have a more 'flecked' colouring, rather than the all brown coffee colour. It's like there is some husks or something in the coffee :o We just love the taste of Lazavva though, but the Qualita Rossa mainly.

Friends say we are coffee snobs though :rotfl:
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

I'm putting a word in for the humble bean. Unless you drink a lot of coffee, ground starts going stale the moment the vacuum seal is broken. It's much better to buy beans and grind them as you need them.

Taylors here. We use a lot of coffee - opened bag gets used so fast it doesn't have a chance to go stale. M&S coffee is also good - being a bit of a buff I can taste that it is also made by Taylors!

I find many coffees including Lavazza are already stale on opening.
  • Illy or Taylors for me. I also like Waitrose range of ground coffee.

However, I prefer to order mine online, roasted to order and ground and dispatched the same day :)

Another vote for M&S here! We used to buy all our ground coffee there, but now he has a grinder, so we need to find good beans! He had some Fortnum and Mason coffee as a treat when we went to London last Xmas, but super expensive!
  • M&S coffee also has 25% off at the moment. I tried the Italian beans, worked well in my bean to cup machine, as I like a stronger coffee for my cappuccino.
    Sally.
