What supermarket ground coffee do you recommend?
Options
I've bought some horrid ground coffees lately, even from the 'premium' ranges. What do you recommend please? Or beans? I've got an Aeropress (FAB!) and so need something fairly finely ground. An everyday, strong, tasty coffee but not an after dinner type

Lidl Bellarom Gold. I've tried all kinds and always end up going back to this. It's great value, too, about £4 for a 500g pack.0

But then I am a bit of a coffee snob and would only drink the best.0 -
Before we bought our bean to cup machine we used to always get Ikea's - really good price and nice coffee.
If you can get into costco they do Lavazza (red pack) at a price that actually works out cheaper than their own brand.0 -
I buy my coffee here

But im lucky that i live within walking distance, so can buy little and often, and try all the different varieties.
If ever in the area i would recommend a visit, just for the aroma lol0 -

Sainsbury's Nigerian stuff is quite nice. And Percol Americano (if non-supermarket brand would be okay).

Sorry, I just sprayed my laptop screen with proper coffee (NOT Whittards).
They stopped being a 'proper coffee shop' about 20 years ago! They are now a crockery retailer who also sells a small selection of tea, coffee and sugar-laden stuff.
For supermarket coffee, try Booth's if you've got one nearby. An excellent range (approx 12 different beans), sold as beans and store-ground while you wait.
If you are ever in Carlisle, try John Watt's shop. (Also available online). They fill the street with coffee roasting smoke every day!
