Another recommendation for Singapore here to. Also would recommend Malaysia, the Malaysian's are such nice people. Thailand also is lovely and is safe to walk about after your evening meal.

I recently returned from my second visit to Krakow. An amazingly lovely city. So many beautiful sights, lots of culture and lots of history.

I have also been to Warsaw 5 or 6 times and have never felt unsafe in either city.

The old square in Krakow is really buzzing at all times. During the spring and summer there is loads going on, lots of street entertainers and outside seating for restaurants and bars.

Like any place on earth you do still have to be careful to some degree but I have always felt safer in Krakow and Warsaw than I do in Norwich.

Also the exchange rate is ok. about 4.5zl to the pound.

But you're a man - of course you're going to view Arab countries differently.

I find Turkish men to be despicable and so does the missus. We went to Kusadasi a few years ago but never again. Constant wolf-whistling, leering and grabbing their crotches.
Mind you the wife is a bit of a looker so I suppose she must expect a certain amount of unwanted attention but generally Turkish men are about as subtle as a flying mallet.
    Business-wise also I wouldn't trust a Turk.
I remember once having a drink in an Istanbul bar and watched the barman in front of me, bold as brass, re-filling a load of empty Perrier water bottles from the tap and re-stocking the fridge !
You're much better off in Greece. A truly civilised country, the crucible of democracy and fantastic people where women are respected and revered.

I have to say that was my experience in Kusadasi too, and in Istanbul. We won't rush back.

Kusadasi occupies a special place in the pantheon of tourist !!!!!!-holes.
Vile, avaricious and mono-browed people who spend every waking hour dreaming of ways to rip-off foreigners.
The week I spent there didn't have a single redeeming factor - except for the day-trip to the nearby Greek island of Samos with its pretty harbour and friendly locals who allowed you to stroll amongst them without them feeling the constant need to behave like rutting mongrels.
