where is it safe to have an evening stroll abroad

I take my Mother every year on holiday , at 82 she loves an evening stroll . But we have never had any problems with safety. BUT its the actual state of roads/pavements which leave lots to be desired.
Side in Turkey has a very new long promenaded might well be worth a look .There are some excellent restaurants in the area, that struggle to keep going because the (mainly foreign owned) hotels like to keep their guests inside. Any contributions to the local economy will see you welcomed like an old friend
OR you can support the jobs , created by those hotels !0 -
What about Singapore or Dubai .. Both Extremely safe.
Singapore you could leave your laptop on a table in a cafe come back an hour later and retrieve it!
Dubai is also very safe to wander about at night.0 -
I've had no probems in tunisia, and have been there most years for the last 10 yrs.
Would suggest Yasmine Hammamet - you can walk round to the medina, or around to the Marnia
Port el Kantoui - thats built round the marina,xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Cyprus - no problemThe questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

If travelling to Transylvania, avoid the evening stroll...
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
I know you said no Caribbean but Barbados has not had a direct hit from hurricane since the 1950s.... (it's actually away from the main chain of Caribbean islands) How about that? We went there and walked everywhere, at all times of day. No problem. Everyone is super friendly there because the prison is horrible and no one wants to be sent thereKavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

Tunisia is fine. We stayed in the older part of Hammamet which is not so touristy and walked about at night no problem. Loved it. The Tunisians are very friendly.
Yasamine Hammamet is a purpose built resort with wide boulevards and is completely geared up to tourists.0 -
